Why did he sue originally?

So as you mentioned, Elon Musk has said that the company had breached its founding mission.

Basically what he was saying in the lawsuit was that the company was meant to be more open and more benefiting humanity than it is at this point in time.

And the company argued that it didn't have a founding mission that was exactly what Musk was saying that it was.

And so the two sides were butting heads and had some back and forth in court filings until he dropped this suit.

So did anything change as a result of Elon Musk's suit?

I mean, I know that OpenAI has asked a California judge to dismiss the case, but was this impactful in any way?

At this point, it doesn't appear that the company changed anything.

It is not yet clear why he decided to drop the suit.

There was a conference between the two sides that was scheduled to take place tomorrow.

So the timing of this makes it sound like maybe it felt like a good time based on whatever discussions they were having.

I have reached out to OpenAI, but haven't yet heard back if the company has anything to say.
