It's said that if you experience all five blessings during your lifetime, it's considered a life well lived. These five blessings are one, cháng shòu, longevity, two, fù guì, prosperity, three, kāng níng, health and peace, four, hào dé, wanting and having virtue, and finally, shàn zhōng, a good death. It suggests that out of the five most important things for a well-lived life, not suffering while dying is one of them. How you die might matter as much as if you die. Actually, how you die can potentially matter more than if you die. Because of all the sentient beings we currently know, none of them are actually immortal. Everyone dies eventually.
