  • What is going on?

  • Welcome to Greggel's TV Daily.

  • Hope you're having a fantastic day.

  • The Huawei Mate XT, which we talked about yesterday, which is the tri-folding phone from Huawei, has released an official video, as you probably have seen as I'm talking, and it shows this phone, tablet, even though it's a phone, off, and it's going to be 2,800 bucks in China when it's from this site, Giztop, which is crazy.

  • I'll link it down below if you want to pay it, but I don't know who's going to want to pay 7,000 bucks.

  • But I wanted to talk about the video because I think it shows off some interesting points, and I'll also give you a full range of specs.

  • So let's first talk about the video.

  • For me, when I'm watching this, to me, it looks like the phone, and I could be wrong, could just be the video itself, it almost looks like when it's completely wide open flat that it's almost like this.

  • I'll put my hands like this.

  • It's easier.

  • It almost doesn't look like it's completely flat.

  • It kind of looks like it's wobbly, and maybe that's what we get with a display this large, which is 10.2 inches, and that's just what we have to deal with as well in terms of the engineering behind this device.

  • But they show it off in a multitude of ways, from reading a book, to just using it in a car, and looking at your stock quotes, and reading a book or a magazine on there, I think it's a magazine, and checking out websites, and reading the websites, obviously, and doing all that real estate stuff, just using it as a regular phone.

  • There's so many use cases for a display this big.

  • I really want to see this, because it's funny, because when I saw the video yesterday of what that guy had, it didn't look wobbly, but in this promo shot, it looks more wobbly to me anyway, and again, it could, like I said, just be how they're filming it, but it kind of looks weird like that.

  • I still want it, don't get me wrong.

  • I still think it looks absolutely the most it's super crazy, awesome looking.

  • What about the specs?

  • Let's talk about the specs.

  • So the displays on the Huawei Mate XT, 6.4 inches when it's just a regular phone, 7.9 inches would be its mini tablet, the size of something that's already in the folding phones.

  • I do folding phones like we have with like, say, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and then a 10.2 inch tablet when you fully unfold the screen, when you have it all completely wide open.

  • This is also the largest display of ultra thin glass.

  • The 10.2 inch fully unfolded display is 90 hertz tri-folding OLED display, non-newtonian fluid material on the surface for two times more resistance.

  • So, you know, they're trying to add some resistance on this display in terms of if you drop it face down, hopefully it wouldn't crack.

  • The cameras are 50 megapixel main, 12 megapixel ultra wide, and 12 megapixel periscope telephoto.

  • So with that, you know, you're not getting the best cameras you can get in the world, and I would be, I'd be honestly at this point with what we see with foldables, it's not a big surprise.

  • The variable aperture, 5600 milliamp battery, does have a fairly big battery, but when you factor in that, that's a 10.2 inch display.

  • You've got to imagine the battery life probably won't be that good, but I guess we'll wait and see. 1.9 millimeter thin silicon battery, 3.6 millimeter thin unfolded, 12.8 millimeters thin when fully folded.

  • Satellite connectivity, which you're going to see on a lot of phones this year on Android.

  • It's been on iPhones for a few years now, and now it's finally making it to a lot of Android phones.

  • I know the Pixel phones have it, the new ones. 66 watt wired charging and 50 watt wireless charging, so some pretty fast charging on there. 16 gigs of RAM, and you can get it in 256, 512, or 1 terabyte, and it equates out to $19,999.

  • Is that won?

  • Is that how you say that? $2,811 American dollar, so it is expensive, but honestly, it's kind of what I'm expecting.

  • I was expecting $25,000 to $3,000.

  • It's under $3,000.

  • That's honestly a bit of a surprise, and it's still one of the most crazy looking devices I think most people will see.

  • If you brought that out, you're going to get a lot of looks and a lot of wow's.

  • I always get wow's with my folding phones now, my Pixel or my Galaxy phones, and you bring this thing out, people are going to pass out.

  • This is a pass out phone.

  • Looks awesome.

  • Still want it.

  • The specs look pretty damn good.

  • Unfortunately, it doesn't run Android.

  • It runs their own operating system, and same thing with the app selection.

  • It's very limited because of the fact that Huawei is unable to work with American companies and things like that, so what are your thoughts on this?

  • You still intrigued?

  • Let me know.

  • Have a great day.

  • We'll see you down the road.

  • Peace.
