Solikeformeforexample, I amconfidentmakingYouTubevideos, notconfidentatallwhenitcomestospeakingDutch, eventhough I'velivedintheNetherlandsforthelastthreeyears.
And I thinkconfidenceiswhenwehavebeliefinourabilitiestoaccomplishwhateveritis, whatevertaskitiswe'resettingouttodo.
Andhavingself-confidenceisreallyempoweringbecausewhenwebelieveinourabilities, wetendtobemoresuccessfulandthatsuccesscreates a positivefeedbackloopwhereconfidencebreedsmoreconfidence.
Sohowdowelearntohavemoreofit?
Allright, earlier I gavetheexampleof I'm confidentmakingYouTubevideosnow, butthatwasnotalwaysthecase.
When I firststartedthischannel, everytime I satdowninfrontofthecameraandtalkedaloudaloneinmylivingroom, I wassoincrediblynervousand I thinkitboileddownto a lackofself-confidenceinwhat I wasdoing.
Andweallhave a littlebitofthatinnervoice, I think, thatinnercriticthatsayswecan't.
And I readsomewhereoncethatthenumberonewaytobuildconfidenceistobuildcompetence, meaninggettingreallygoodatsomething.
Solet's say, forexample, youwanttobecomelike a professionalphotographer, insteadoftellingyourselforsettingtheunrealisticgoalof, I wanttobecome a proatthisovernight, wewouldinsteadseehowcanwebreakthisdownintosmaller, moreachievableactionsteps.
And I thinktheotherwaysthatwecanalsobuildconfidenceistocelebrateachievements.
I thinkwecandothatin a coupledifferentways.

Butwecanalsokeepandreflectonanaccomplishedlist, a listofthechallengesandprojectsthatyou'vealreadycompleted.
And I thinkseeingthatlistconsistentlyin a visibleplace, itkindofsubtlybuildsourconfidenceinourskillsandabilities.
A friendofmineoncetoldmethatweoverestimatewhatwecandoin a dayandweunderestimatewhatwecandoin a lifetime.

And I thinkthat's wheretheseachievementlistscanreallyhelpbecausewhenwe'refeelingboggeddownbecauseyoujustfeelyoudidn't getenoughthingsdoneintheday, thenwhenyoulookatthislist, it's a reminderofthethingsthatyouhaveaccomplished.
