  • Oh, hello. Guys, it's autumn in New York City. One might even say autumnal. It's an especially warm autumnal day, which I love. We're going to do some fun things today. I'm not going to tell you what we're doing. You're just going to have to come and see. Yeah, that's all I have to say. Check this out real quick. I'm giving my planties some playtime outside today because they deserve it and they don't have it for much longer, you know? And last but not least before we leave, I was out here with my friends last night and I like to cover these up when I'm not using them. If anything, because they get shit on by birds. Oh well.

  • All right, let's go.

  • That was such a nice bike ride. Usually, I'm a West Village purist in the fall. There's just nothing more fall-y than autumnal than West Village. Maybe Park Slope in Brooklyn gives it a run for its money. But anyways, today I made the very brave decision to cross over Enemy Lines ever so slightly into Greenwich Village because there's this coffee shop I want to try. Let's go there, shall we? Also, I always forget how chaotic this park is.

  • Washington Square Park, I think, is the most chaotic.

  • Thank you. Okay, I will do the salt and maple latte, please. Can I make it iced? Is it these two? I'll do 16 ounce, please. I'll do whole milk, please. That's it? Great, thank you so much. You know those memes of people who like their coffee black and so they make fun of people who like to put milk and sugar in their coffee and say things like, oh, would you like some coffee with your milk and sugar? Why don't you just get a milkshake? Why don't you just get a milkshake? That is me. So the fact that I ordered a salted maple latte, it just shows my dedication to this phenomenal video. And let's be realistic, it probably tastes good.

  • It's really good. It's not, thank God, it's not nearly as sweet. I thought it was just gonna hit me like 10 pounds of sugarcane on my head. So I thought I would show you guys what I'm reading right now just because I like to talk about my books. Oh, and I got the new aura ring. So much to tell you guys. But anyways, right now I'm reading Deep Work by Cal Newport, who is an author and a professor of computer science. The book is about how to focus and work deeply in a very, very distracted world. The one that we live in today, the modern world. And I'm only a third of the way through. Third of the way through, almost.

  • But some of it I'm finding paradigm shifting is a strong phrase, but I think that by the end of this, I really think that's what it's gonna be for me. One of the chapters or subsections that I've really, really liked so far is that so many of us mistake busyness for productivity.

  • Like busyness has a proxy for productivity. It really goes into that. It is so incredibly applicable, especially to my former consulting job, but also now. But anyways, we'll save that discussion for later. I kind of like to alternate my business books with like a fun psychological thriller novel. So I might take a look at picking one of those up today.

  • We'll see. And before we go, you guys should see the best part of the fit. Cavalier King

  • Charles spaniel socks. I keep that thing on me. So not how you use that phrase.

  • The lady in there complimented my tomato shirt. This is definitely a shirt you could sell in there. It was so aesthetic.

  • Guys, I thought we would come here to this bookstore in the heart of West Village because fun fact, just thought I'd show you. I used to live when I was interning here, right here, which if you knew New York at all, you know that that's kind of a crazy place for a 21 year old to be living. I just got an insane deal. It was a friend of my cousins who lived here at the time and then was away for the summer and just kind of wanted someone to look after it. And so I got a great deal for a full one bedroom. And this part of West

  • Village is, is expensive. But that was a great summer. And anyways, it's right across from this bookstore, Three Lives, which is just a classic West Village spot. Another quick funny story before we go in there. This Van Leeuwen's ice cream was here when I lived here as well. And I, I don't think they have a sign anymore, but the sign used to say vegan ice cream because they have vegan options. But I spent that whole summer thinking that it was only vegan ice cream. And I was like, okay, I know it's kind of trendy pricing in there. I'm not going to go unless they use good old fashioned cow milk, you know. Come a couple of years later, I learned that Van Leeuwen's also has regular ice cream, like cow milk ice cream, which is kind of unfortunate for me to know that now because I just spend way too much money at Van Leeuwen's now. It's so good. It's expensive though. Anyways, let's, ooh, let's go into the bookstore. I do that whenever I hit some good lighting instead of just letting it play out and I ruin the shot.

  • Hello, Ramona. I can't shake the simplest feeling beyond the ghost. We stand on the opposite shore. Hello, Ramona. I reach through mysterious ceilings. My only hope. I look for the things I don't know. For all in this, I stand alone. Show me where the ending goes.

  • Honestly, I should be the last to know. For all in this, I stand alone.

  • Exciting. This is actually the book I was kind of looking for when I went in there.

  • When I mentioned before that I like to switch between business books and typically psychological thrillers, this is the one I've seen pop up quite a bit recently, so I'm glad they have it. All right, now we're venturing into the typical autumnal part of the West Village.

  • Let me show you. Remember I came here with my mom in my Christmas video? We had that really, really thick hot chocolate. So good. Okay, we are approaching my favorite corner.

  • I think it's my favorite corner in the whole city.

  • There's always a freaking truck like this. Just like this, right in front.

  • Hi. How are you? Good. Can I please do a bagel with cream cheese? Thank you. Taylor.

  • All right, Apollo's not my favorite. Tom's Square Bagel's my favorite. Just have to say that. But I think a little bite before we have dinner later would be good. Also, we have a very special guest joining us at dinner, so you guys should stick around for that.

  • Hello. All right, y'all. Time to go out for dinner. Just going to freshen up a wee bit.

  • Yeah, speaking of the Aura ring, this is my first ever one. I got it last week. This is the Gen 4. I got it the day that it came out. And I've been tracking my sleep for years with my Apple Watch and my workouts and everything. But sleep is the one that I just find most interesting. I love all of those data points. My resting heart rate, heart rate variability, deep sleep, all that good stuff. And Aura is specifically really, really good for sleep.

  • It's definitely not a necessity. It's a nice to have. It's an expensive nice to have. But you know, as I'm getting older and honestly just becoming more and more interested in health metrics and all that, it's just a big passion of mine. I can totally see myself getting more and more gadgets, which I'm fine with. It's a great investment. But the Aura ring just got me thinking recently just how exponentially healthier my overall life, my lifestyle is now than when I was in my corporate job. I know I'm always making the comparisons, but so be it. I mean, the sleep alone is the biggest part. Arguably even bigger difference than the sleep is difference in happiness and fulfillment.

  • Aww.

  • So yeah, I really prioritize sleep. I'm super into the gadgets. I think it's fun. I know not everyone's into having all of that data. Someone else having all that data on them, but I don't really care. But yeah, very grateful for having a healthy lifestyle, getting lots of sleep, doing things that energize and motivate me and all that good stuff. I am very, very fortunate.

  • Anyways, let's go to dinner, shall we? You guys get to see my special guest.

  • Get it?

  • Reporting live from this ramen spot. You guys might remember Harry.

  • Hi guys. Hope you're well. Hope you're having a spooky October. And well done for getting

  • Taylor to half a million followers. You guys are legends.

  • Thank you, Harry. Couple quick questions for you while I have you in the hot seat.

  • Ooh. Well, there are many. Where do I begin? Where do I begin? I think I'll go for my Cuban queen, Ana de Armas. Great girl. And a great actress, most importantly.

  • Yeah, most importantly. Very skilled. And in the movie...

  • I've got one for you.

  • Okay.

  • If you were a kitchen utensil, what would it be? Which one speaks to your personality the most?

  • You want to hang on to it?

  • Yeah. Flipping the script.

  • What's yours?

  • I think I'd be one of those spaghetti scoopers. You know?

  • Yeah.

  • That one? Whenever I see one, I feel a strange amount of kinship to it, if you will.

  • Ooh, I know. I know. Well, it's my favorite one. It's not what I would be. Can I just say my favorite one?

  • My favorite is... I have a couple spoons. Long teaspoons. So it's a really long stem handle. You know what I mean? And so for my overnight oats and tea and whatever, you can really get down in there. Kind of like a bartender's spoon.

  • Yes.

  • Like a...

  • Yes.

  • Yeah, yeah.

  • The long ones.

  • Cool.

  • So that's my answer.

  • In my house, we have these... It's from my mother's side of the family. We have these glasses. You give them to people and you fill them up with champagne. And you can't put them down until you finish the drink.

  • Fun.

  • And so it kind of gets the party...

  • Gets the party started.

  • Gets the party started. And ended.

  • And ended.

  • A little too soon sometimes.

  • Wait, what does it look like?

  • It's like a flute and then it kind of curves like that. So there's no flat...

  • Oh, because you can't put it down?

  • Yeah.

  • Smart.

  • Smart. I'll send a photo.

  • Please do. Do you feel kinship with that as well?

  • Yeah. I feel like kinship with a lot of things.

  • Very good.

  • What's your favorite herb?

  • Herb, but you say hub.

  • My favorite herb? I don't really know the herbs by name.

  • You got some herbs in the Rolodex.

  • Mine's basil.

  • Your favorite fruit?

  • Nectarine. Yellow nectarine.

  • That's a very Pick Me answer.

  • Just say mango like everyone else.

  • That would be Pick Me.

  • No, it wouldn't.

  • Why?

  • It's the people's choice.

  • I prefer nectarine.

  • Nectarine.

  • Yeah.

  • What else do you like? Dragon fruit?

  • No, not really. I'll take that back. Thank you very much. I like peaches and nectarines the most. A perfect nectarine to me is just juicy sweetness. Pick Me ones are ones that are kind of rare.

  • No, I feel like, yeah, I think so. It's like I'm trying to be cool with my choice, like the nectarine choice.

  • Mine was, okay, Harry just told me a very fun fact.

  • Should I stand? Should I? Restart this. Restart this.

  • Okay.

  • It was the most natural way to stand.

  • You look fine. You can just stand like that.

  • Sorry. Okay, I'll just film you.

  • Okay, Harry, what was the fun fact?

  • Hi guys. Fun fact. This bar was in Godfather part two right at the beginning when those people tried to strangle Frank's pentagon.

  • Nice.

  • Look it up.

  • Yeah.

  • Keep an eye out for it.

  • Keep an eye out. This is the one.

  • We're on 7th Street.

  • Why is that? 7B.

  • 7B. We're on 7th Street, 7th Street and Avenue B.

  • Horseshoe Bar. Over and out.

  • Let me redo that.

  • I'm just coming back to get my camera.

  • Oh yeah.
