Saturday morning, a mother came in, scoped out the area, had her pup just a few hours later. It all happened in the midst of big El Nino storms. Mom and baby back again today during the rains, taking a break in the tide pool. Unfortunately, it probably won't stay forever. She's absolutely going to have to leave at some point. Yeah, the groceries are slim in the Great Tide Pool, so this mama needs to eat more than 25% of her body weight a day just to nurse herself, to nurse her pup. The aquarium says mom has been doing all the right things, taking breaks on the rocks.
