Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles I wanted to, very quickly, demonstrate a potential problem for students to be able to view Panopto videos that you may have embedded into a content page in your course. So, right now I am logged in as a student to this course. And I'm looking at this Panopto video, and I see this link here that says "Sign in to see this video." If I try to do that, I click on the link, I say Sign In using Canvas, and I'm taken to this window. I can't actually see any way to go forward from here. So that's a problem. One way around it is for me to just go into the Panopto Recordings tab. So, you can direct your students to do that. Another way is, rather than just using the default size for the embed window in Canvas, you can go in and change the size. So, I'm flipping over to a different browser. I'm logged in there as an instructor for this course. I'm going to go in and edit this page really quickly. And, um... Okay, I'm back. For some reason, I had lost my permission to edit--it had logged me out. So I click into the HTML Editor, here. It gives me a width and a height. It gives it to me twice, by default. I'm not sure why. I usually delete one of those out. And then, I'll adjust the width to about 600 and the height to about 400. Those are just arbitrary numbers. And then I'm going to save it. Okay. And now I'm going to get back in as a student. I'm going to refresh this page, and you see that that size will have changed. It'll take me right back to this window. If I sign in to see the video--click sign in--I can get to the Log In button now. And if I click log in once, this is usually what happens for me. If I refresh the page, though, once I've logged in. It takes a second. There's the video. I can press play. And it's running exactly as I would expect it to. So, just make your embed windows for your videos a little bit wider than the default embed code. That will help to alleviate this problem.
