Another eye-opening film but it made me very angry and am
I your dream demographic?
A guy who clueless guy lives under a rock and suddenly
his eyes are open?
Yes I made this film for you because I believe the
average American wants given the truth one shown was
going on we always end up doing the right thing
eventually once we figured out so this is my
contribution to helping us figure it out.
Yes but I was also left with I'm watching this film
getting angrier and angrier I fly every weekend so much
money is spent on plane tickets I want my pilots to
be happy they should be of all people they're in charge
of so many people's souls to find out that's not the case
I'm thinking what can I do about it I just felt empty
like this is wrong everything I saw in this
movie is wrong but it just left me like what can I do?
Well you can first of all tell the airlines are you
not to fly on their airlines if they're paying pilots 16,
17 $18,000 a year it's simply unacceptable let's
just all agree regardless of our political persuasion bad
brain surgeons and airline pilots should be paid top
dollar!
Absolutely in the other thing to us when you find
out about this movie is broken off we find out about
the day care and when you see the film you understand
what I'm talking about That is just another unacceptable
situation but how do you decide what content not to
where I'm surprised this movies not four hours long.
There is a four-hour version I mean this is a hard one
it's a very full two hours because I try to put in as
much as I saw him shot it's one incredible story after
another and things you've not seen the nightly news
you don't know about and that's why I do what I do
I'm the guy who's giving you the other side of the story
things are not being told.
And you never but on anybody's hit list?
People don't come after you?
I'm still here.
You would think that.
Save that tape by the way.
(laughs) so when they pull my body the river,
months ago he just said.
I know I was thing about that the incredible power
that you're going up against you would think somebody
would get together and say, let's get rid of that
Michael Moore.
You know why that doesn't happen nobody has gotten up
out of their seats in the theater and gone done
anything so that I'm safe as long,
the first time the whole loads of people leave the
theater going I'm going to get involved,
I'm going to be involved in my democracy,
I'm going to stop this, well then I become dangerous.
Right now I'm just a curiosity that makes them
money.
You must have a lot of people coming up to you for
content for other movies, how do you make those
decisions what needs to be tackled.
It's a good question because I get a lot of people come
up to me and tell me stories,
I get e-mails I get documents sent to me they're
amazing I can make so many films about the things I
hear it's tough I wish I could clone myself a few
times over.
Now do you hear from the people that you shot in this
heartbreaking story after the movie comes out to stay
in touch involved?
Oh yeah absolutely, sure, yeah I care about these
people that we fill we do stay in touch I keep in
touch with people back from the Roger and me days.
Has there ever been a success,
your movie as communities reached out and help these
people?
Yes starting with my first film the studio Warner Bros.
offered to pay rent or the mortgage of the people that
were being evicted from their homes,
they pay their rent for the next two years after the
film was out so sometimes good things happen.
Individual actions like that aren't going to change the
whole system, we need real change to make our economy
with democratic principles not word set up that the
upper 1% get the own 95% of all the financial wealth.
While the one thing I can do to help is that tell people
about this film.
I appreciate it.
Thank you very much, thank you.
That's my contribution.
