  • If I come here, to talk

  • with sort of [a] strong feeling "I am Buddhist".

  • And perhaps, furthermore, "I'm Dalai Lama"

  • Or "holy" ... "His Holiness"

  • And then that kind of mental attitude

  • automatically creates some kind of distance from you

  • As soon as you look at other[s] as something different than you

  • and also you yourself consider [yourself] something different

  • Then this sort of uneasiness comes.

  • So therefore,

  • I practice this

  • Of course, firstly, there are teachings:

  • We always used to say

  • [?] sentiet being

  • Even though [we] make [a] distinction

  • "human being", "other animal"

  • or "insects", like that.

  • Eventually, if we receive some visitor

  • from another galaxy come

  • Look: Same human being.

  • Maybe a little different sort of shapes

  • But basically the same,

  • Then furthermore [it is the] same sentient being.

  • Respect them.

  • Look at them.

  • It's the same sentient being.

  • We can immediately shake hand[s]

  • if they have some sort of similar hand there

  • then we can shake hand[s].

  • If we [?] put too much emphasis [on] "We are human being[s] on this planet",

  • then someone from the outside comes,

  • a stranger.

  • Always watch for [?]

  • That creates more anxiety,

  • more fear.
