Step. Now Carmelo Anthony is on of the premiere scorers in the NBA and one thing that makes

him so good is he is a master at getting separation from his defender so he can get an open jump

shot. Now he has tons of moves that he uses to get his separation but his go to tried

and true move is the jab step. So during the breakdown be on the lookout for the 3 main

keys that you need to know to jab step guys just like Carmelo Anthony. Now if you like

time to breakdown Carmelo Anthony's vicious jab step. Alright so the first key to the

jab step is the jab itself. Check out how Carmelo picks up his foot and then stabs it

violently into the ground. This makes the defender shift their weight and get ready

to guard the drive. Key #2 is you want to throw a hard ball fake simultaneously with

the jab step. With the ball and your foot coming forward at the same time the defense

has not choice but to react. And the last key, you want to make sure that you get your

eyes up to your target as soon as possible. Most guys miss this shot because they don't

find their target until the ball is just about to release out of their hands. Alright so

remember the 3 main keys to the Jab step. #1 You want to throw that foot forward as

hard as you possibly can to really sell it making the defender think you are driving

the basketball. Key #2 you want to give a really hard ball fake to the inside of that

front knee. That way you can really sell that drive even more with that original jab step.

And key #3 you want to get your eyes up early as fast as you possibly can to locate that

target. Remember the longer you aim at the target them ore accurate your shot is going
