loads of amazing artists here. Chuffed that I'm nominated, look forward to the event.

I have to say, I think there's something really special about this award show, even maybe

more so than others.

Well, I think it's because it's not built around controversy. It's not for the TVs.

It's not that kind of event. It's based on everyone, songwriters, managers, composers,

everyone.

I'm just really pleased that I'm here and that they let an Essex boy in and I'm able to have

a good time, so.

Of course they would! Now, what song have you written that you're most proud of?

I mena, to be honest with you, it'd have to be 'Troublemaker' and probably 'Dance With

Me Tonight.' Both of them got nominated for an Ivor Novello and, you know, songs like

'Dear Darling' that I wrote I'm so happy with but the fact that 'Troublemaker' is getting

happy with today says it all for me. I'm very happy that people have recognised it and put

it in the list and I've been nominated for it. So I'd have to say they are my favourite

songs, because this is such a great event!

Now have you ever writeen a song about somebody that they've then realised is about them and

then they've called you up being like, 'Is that song about me?'

100%! I've done that a few times. I even wrote a song once about my nan and grandad and their

relationship and how they love each other but also they hate each other sometimes. And

they were listening to it and they were, like, 'Is this about us?' And I went, 'Yeah.' And

they were devastated. I think they didn't speak to me for a week. But, no, it's what

songwriting's all about. It's a great experience and you try to come up with something clever

and something unique.

And, lastly, what are you most excited for this summer?

I'm excited about just enjoying the summer because normally I'm working. So, I'm writing

the album at the moment. We're gonna be coming back with some new music, so just getting

all that prepared for people to hear and I'm excited, yeah.

New music comes kind of October time?

Yeah, new music October potentially, yeah. But also the festival season. I'm like

everyone else, I can't wait to get my wellies on, go and enjoy some bands and go and have

a great time.
