So, I don't know if you've heard,
maybe you've heard, perhaps you haven't
and then now you will have heard,
I've launched my own brand. It's ED by Ellen, and--
[cheers and applause]
Thank you.
It's a clothing and lifestyle brand
and we've got cute shoes and we have cute sweaters
and we have--oh, look at that.
And we have a cute CEO,
and--oh, that's me.
So right now, it's only available at edbyellen.com
or here in the Ellen Shop,
but I read some stories lately
about--some stores are doing something called slow shopping--
do you know about this?
Slow shopping, to compete with online shopping.
And let me tell you something, it's hard to compete
with being able to shop while drinking wine in your underwear.
[laughter]
Nothing better than that.
Slow shopping is what stores are doing
to get you to spend more time in their stores.
Which is why Nordstrom has a restaurant,
and Urban Outfitters have concerts,
and IKEA--they have mastered it
because--they have mastered slow shopping
'cause it takes three hours to find the exit,
so you're just, "I'll buy that while I'm here."
I thought I'd try some of my own slow shopping ideas here
at the Ellen Shop, so today, I'm making a few changes.
You know, in Vegas they pump oxygen
and they have no windows, we do that here,
and from now on Ari's gonna dress like a Vegas showgirl.
He's never done that before.
[laughter]
Hi, Ari.
[cheers and applause]
Very pretty.
- Is that comfortable, Ari? - No.
- Pretty.
No one likes shopping on an empty stomach,
so we've added a chocolate fondue fountain
which is...right there.
Yeah.
That is actually giant.
It's just that...
Okay.
And, you know, if you shop till you drop,
don't worry about that.
Nick the Gardner will carry you to your car.
[cheers and applause]
[laughing]
And because I want all of you to be healthy,
Carrie Underwood is giving out flu shots back there.
[cheers and applause]
[laughs]
Oh...
Of course, we also have music back there
because the best way to keep customers happy is
to make 'em wanna dance.
