Aside from the "ick" factor and an itchy scalp, head lice are not dangerous and they do not
spread disease. However, they are very embarrassing, contagious, hard to get rid of and can cause
a great deal of anxiety for parents and children. The good news is that I am going to teach
you how to get rid of lice quickly and naturally. This won't require a trip to the doctors or
any toxic creams or prescription medicines. There are only 3 tools required for getting
rid of lice: A special comb, lavender oil and a hair dryer. Some people prefer to use
tea tree oil. I see that advertised a lot as a popular home remedy. However, there have
been studies showing that it can be harmful to children and pets. So my advice is to stick
with 100% natural, therapeutic grade lavender oil. All essential oils are not created equal
and you should be very careful when purchasing a product that you will be applying to your
skin. I just posted a great page on my blog about all the best ways to get rid of lice.
Check that out after you are finished watching this video and I will show you where to get
the best quality lavender oil and also how to get the cheapest price. There are also
a bunch of other fantastic tips and tricks on that page for families to use when dealing
with lice in their home. So I highly recommend you check that out before you get started
with these treatments. Once you have your ingredients, just mix 15-20 drops of lavender
oil with 4 ounces of rubbing alcohol and add it to a spray bottle. Saturate your hair at
night time and leave it in for 12 hours. The following morning, use the special lice comb
and over every single part of your scalp. The lavender oil mixture will kill the lice
but combing the hair out is absolutely essential to actually remove the insects and eggs from
your scalp. This mixture can also be used as a preventative treatment if someone in
your home has lice and you want to stop it from spreading. The best part about this treatment
is that it is very inexpensive and the single bottle of lavender oil, if stored properly,
can last for 4-5 years. Finally, after you are finished combing out in the morning, wash
it and then use your hair dryer. Lice can be killed at temperature of 110 degrees. Now,
reaching 110 degrees on your head would be uncomfortable, so I don't recommend that your
try to kill all of the lice with heat. But I have found that using the hair dryer to
a comfortable tolerance in between lavender oil treatments will get rid of the lice much
much faster. Just repeat this process daily and your head will be insect-free in no time
at all. Don't forget to check out my free head lice elimination guide at chipptips.com/lice.
I will see you there!
