Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Welcome to Antarctica No they are humpbacks. We've got one right below us! Right Below us, Right Below us. I can see him. So we've just had an amazing experience, a couple of humpback whales just went right under our boat. And they were just meters away, it was so incredible. I've never been that close to a whale in my life Down here in Antarctica, very cool So we've made it here to the Shetlan Islands which is our first stop here with Quark Expeditions And we get to see tons of penguins, And you know if you sit down, and be really quiet, and sit there and be calm, they'll come right up to you. We have to stay 5 meters away from them, but they can come up as close as they want to you. It's really truly a great experience. So I'm doing the Polar Plunge in the Antarctic, and I'm really afraid, I wasn't gonna do it, I was gonna wimp out, but then I changed my mind because I thought I'd regret it the rest of my life. Swim, swim! It's 3 degrees outside, going into some zero degree weather, getting ready to go! Davie! Canada! Oh my God! We're all Polar Plungers here We're here at Port Lockery, in Antarctica, it's an old British Research Station. Also what's really cool about this place is you can send a postcard home to your country. So we made it here, our 7th continent, Antarctica. we've stepped on the actual continent today. Well, this is home for the night, this is my sleeping bag and my bivy. Made a nice little bed in the snow and we're camping in Antarctica. There's no wind and let's keep our fingers crossed it doesn't snow, I think we're going to do a good job tonight and be toasty warm. Wow we are truly in Antarctica the weather has just changed drastically. We have landed on Deception Island, and we're in whalers bay. This is an old whaling station from the 1900s when many a whale was killed in here. I'm glad that we came down here at this time of year and we were fortunate to get this amazing weather. They said they haven't had this kind of weather for 2 years. It's either snowing or cloudy. We're super fortunate there. And you know what, the reflections, the peacefulness of such a narrow channel down here in the Antarctic was just awesome. Ah, if you get a chance to come down to the Lemaire Channel, do it, I highly recommend it.
