Whaaat? - Okay, so it got a little more R-rated, but that's okay. But then he turned on the TV, so maybe he wasn't feeling it. - I would have thought that he wanted something to happen, if he wanted everything to be feeling right with the cologne, you know? - Maybe she's moving too fast for him. - He doesn't like her like that. Maybe he's saving himself. - This guy needs some serious help with signals. - There's things that interest him more than just the girl in front of him. I kind of imagine him being someone who lives with their mom and sits on the couch all day. - When you're 23, you're at a point in your life where you are distracted by all the things that are happening at the same time. Perhaps that's why he mentions ADD, is because there's a lot of distractions. - "My friends say I should act my age. What's my age again? (to tune) What's my age again? "What's My Age Again?" That's the name of the song! There we go. - This guy is just stuck with wanting to be a kid or a teenager. - His friends are like, "Bro, act your age!" And he's like, "I don't know, man. What's my age? What does it really matter, I guess?" - It's the age where you can't choose between being older and younger, and everything's sort of just there. - What is relevant about the number of years that I've been on this earth? This is just me, and you're telling me I should act my age. What does that even mean? - "Then later on, on the drive home, I called her mom from a payphone." - "I said I was the cops and your husband's in jail. This state looks down on sodomy." (giggles) Is that what the song says? - He drove home, he's like-- "Ugh, I hate that! Just [bleep] this bitch!" And then he's like, "You know what? I'ma pull over and prank call her mom!" - It's funny when kids do things like that, but when an adult does something like that, it's like, "Okay, really?" - Pranks, depending on what type of prank you do, could still be funny to those, but also could be going a little bit too far and it's just immature-- like, come dude, grow up. - You either love him or hate him. He's gonna be super annoying, or he's gonna be that guy that makes you laugh all the time. - "And that's about the time that bitch hung up on me. Nobody likes you when you're 23 and are still more amused by prank phone calls. What the hell is Call ID?" Oh my gosh! He didn't even do *67? That is the prank caller's number one rule; you have to do that so you can't see who's calling. - That's where something's wrong. That's where something's weird because how's there Caller ID on a payphone? See? Right there, Illuminati confirmed right there. ♪ (spooky music) ♪ - He's confused about simple things, like "what's ADD?" and "what's Call ID?" So I don't know if he's literally asking, or if he's just being funny. - The mom's like, "Yo, this is Call ID. This is not the cops. You're an idiot. Go away." He prank phone called and everyone's like, "Shut the [bleep] up." What the hell is wrong with me? - He knows he's obligated to grow up, and it seems like everybody else is already doing that. - People expect you to behave a certain way, and the truth is that we all go a different pace. So when is the right time to stop doing these things? No one should really take themselves so seriously because you're still young and you should have fun. - There's a difference between levity and fun, and just being a jerk and being inconsiderate to other people. - Nobody should take themselves super seriously. I think you should have fun with life and joke around with your friends and family and stuff, but... to a point. - There's a lot of pressure to get a degree, and get a job, and instantly grow up, and I get that because you need to be proactive and have a life ahead of you, but I think it's important to kind of maintain your youth and try to have fun too and not take life so seriously. I appreciate his light-hearted outlook. - "I never wanna act my age. What's my age again? What's my age again?" - He's like, "I don't care. I don't want to act my age. I want to be a kid. I want to do my own thing." - He's thinking of it so drastically, like, "When you grow up, you can never have fun," and that's kind of what it sounds like. But, really, you could grow up and have fun. - Why should we all act our ages? Not even old people that I know act their ages. - I don't want to act my age sometimes, but that's life. You got to start acting your age, otherwise things just aren't gonna get done. - I get up every day and have to handle business as an adult. I feel not ready for everything, but you just gotta do it. - (Finebros) So what was going on in those lyrics? - The song's about someone who is extremely immature. - A guy who can't grow up, and knows that he can't grow up, and he realizes that it's annoying everyone that he can't grow up, but he doesn't care. - Ultimately, he's stating that he'd just rather be himself. I agree with it. I think it's true. - People can probably relate to it, even if they don't want to admit it. Which is understandable, but it's like, "Come on, dude. Everybody grows up. They should've kept it. - (Finebros) How do you think the expectations of maturity for young adults have changed since 1999? - I think, back then, you had a lot more leeway just because there wasn't social media and now everything you're doing, most of the time, it can be recorded or just seen. - People are starting to grow up a lot faster because of social media. A lot of people are starting to want to grow up a lot earlier. They want to be older. They want to be cool. - Nowadays, we're giving it a little bit more time to experiment with who we want to be and what we want to do. My mom was 21 when she had me, so I can't imagine running around with a six year old already. - In 1999, when you hit 18 you're expected to get a job and just nose to the grindstone. But as of right now, I'm just barely 20 and still living at home and going to college, you know? That's bad ass! - I've always forced myself to grow up faster then when I should have. But now I did that so much that I find myself boring and I'm like, "Okay, this is wack. I need to go in the reverse. I need to go the opposite direction."
