MARYAM: The University of Strathclyde is a very good choice for international students
first of all, it's a world class university
and has a very good reputation
DORIN: I would say Strathclyde is by far
one of the best launching platforms
for your career as a researcher.
FRANCESCO: The good thing about Strathclyde is,
if you do something then it will be used.
You have the opportunity to do something good for the future.
DORIN: Not only because of the tightly knit community
that allows you to grow as a researcher,
but the excellent facilities, the prestige that comes with Strathclyde.
MARYAM: Facilities in the lab, all the instruments are state-of-the-art
perfect instruments, very good
computers are all new and in general the Department is all new.
DORIN: One of the fantastic things I've found
is the willingness to invest
when potential is shown
FRANCESCO: There is money for doing research,
and that's not to common everywhere.
DORIN: The Department is more than willing to support financially
my research to go the extra mile
which is something, in my experience, departments don't really do.
MARYAM: Everyone is really friendly in the Department
both lecturers and PhD students are very helpful,
FRANCESCO: There are a lot of foreign students and we're really accepted and wanted.
DORIN: I've never felt more welcome, even
in different cities in my own country, I haven't felt this welcome.
MARYAM: The environment is very friendly, we have lunch together,
we go out on Friday nights for drinks,
so it's a very friendly and helpful environment.
