Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Hi there, I'm Angela Oberer and today's good idea comes from a good idea we did the other day on hoarding. I got a whole bunch of telephone calls after we did that the other day, people saying "Ange, I am not a hoarder, I'm just a pack rat." Okay. And then I had people say: "Ange, Wait a second, I understand the concept of re-framing my mind, and not to bring more stuff in, but what about the stuff I already have?" Obviously, we have it for a reason right? We have stuff because we are emotionally attached to it, or because we are creative and we're going to use it for something else. Well, my friend Robyn asked if I would share with you her experience because she's so excited about the progress she's made. She and her husband have owned a little boutique. And it's a little store that has ornaments, and zany trinkets, and treasures, and little diaries, and jewelry, and bracelets and stuff that you would give away to women as gifts. And they ship them out in these little boxes all across the country, well Robyn is going through a divorce right now, and she has inherited this store. And has decided as part of her reinvention process, she is no longer going to run this store and ship stuff out. So what we've done today is we've picked one area of Robyn's life that she's willing to let go. And we have, I mean she's got an amazing collections of stuff, don't get me wrong, amazing collections, but she's letting go of the shipping supplies. Just one area. So today, literally we've been pulling out of her attic, and her store, and her storage unit, and her shipping center, and her garage, all these boxes, and boxes and boxes of nothing but, little boxes. And garbage bags full of packing peanuts. Stuff that you would use if you had that kind of a business. And she's donating it to other businesses that were like hers that can use those supplies. But she doesn't need them, she doesn't want them, and they're taking up space. So if you're cleaning some clutter out of your life, just pick one area, that you're not REALLY emotionally attached to, and start letting go of some of those things. Because it's like a domino effect, once you free up the space, it frees a whole lot more. Not to mention, it's a good idea. It's a good idea.
