I'm getting ready to cook some dinner. So I've pulled out all of my ingredients out
of my pantry. Now, today I'm going to you a little bit about
recycling old containers for better use. Sometimes your food will come prepackaged
in a resealable bag like this rice. Awesome! Lentils, awesome.
Quinoa, awesome.
Chick peas, not so much.
I've got to repackage these. If I don't use all of these, I've got to find
a clear container, secret is clear, so I can see with the eyes what I have. These are black
eyed peas. I took a clear mayonaise container, cut the label off, rinsed it out, put my black
eyed peas in, and labeled the top so I can see what I have. On the front of that are
cooking instructions in case I forget how to cook black eyed peas. I cut those instructions
from the back of the bag. And simply taped them on the side of my container.
Now if you don't have a container that you can label with a marking pen, you can simply label it
with a piece of masking tape. So you can see really quickly what you have, i.e. Chia seeds,
flaxseed, and how much is in the container because the container is clear.
This used to have nuts inside, I took the nuts out, and instead of tossing the container,
I rinsed it out, I put my black beans in here, labeled it, cooking instructions, Wa la!
Why recycle your old clear containers? Because it's a good idea.
Now why is she doing this? It's a good idea.
