We're gonna be shooting somebody, for sure. - (FBE) A while back, you reacted to the trailer for this game, where we told you you were probably going to play this World War I shooter eventually. Well, today is that day. - I see, because I've seen this before, here in the studio. - Was that the gory one where all the heads were being cut off? - (FBE) Mm-hm. - Oh god. It was horrible, absolutely horrible. - (FBE) You'll be playing the game mode "Conquest," in which you and 63 other people fight to control multiple strategic points across a massive map. - I just hope they don't curse me out. - It sounds a little daunting. - They're going to wipe the floor with me! - If I can figure out those buttons, somebody is going down! - "Capture and hold the flags." - "Massive all-out war: hold the majority of flags and eliminate enemy troops to win." - I'm the new recruit in town. - This is moving to the left, and this is-- oh, this is going down? - (soldier) Keep it going, boys! - Hard to center it. - I don't see anybody. Let's see, where... I guess I have to go further forward. - (voice-over)...has arrived. (gunshots) - I'm down already. (rapid gunfire) - To the right. Whoops. (laughing) - So what it was-- "you versus foe: 0-1." Oh my god, mine died already. I don't know what I'm doing. - (FBE) The red letters are the flags that you need to capture and defend. That's your objective. - Okay, and now the blue one is mine. - The flags, where can I find the flags? - Get those flags over there, okay. Follow that bayonet, you idiot! - That's the only way to go through here. No, no, no, no, no, back. (soldier barking orders) Go through here, okay. Oh, this is like a maze. (shooting) - Ay, he hit me! So I'm dead now? He's going to run over me. (anxiously) Oh! - How do I capture them? - (FBE) Yep, so if you hit X right now, you're going to load onto the map. - Oh, oh, I see. And now I bring it back to my base or something? - (FBE) You just have to hold the area. - Oh. (explosion) I have absolutely no idea who I'm holding it from. - (FBE) See that flag going up right in front-- oh. - Yeah. - (FBE) Yeah, that's a control point. - Did I just get killed? Okay, and I'm back. Okay. All right. - (FBE) Oh, you're in a tank now. - So I'm in a tank? (firing) Okay, there's someone around here somewhere. I hear fire. - Flag, flag, where are you? Aah! (laughing) Ay yi yi, Josie, you just can't be a fighter, you know? Oh-oh, there's a flag. I wish I could be an expert on this because it's fun. I really, really like it. (firing) (enemy moans) - Did I get something? No. (laughing) (laughing) Where is it? - This B, how come I'm not hitting-- I guess I have to go back further. Did I just get a [inaudible]? That's a control point you need to capture. - Oh, well, then what-- - (soldier) There's one over there! - What is the point of what I'm doing? Uh-oh, I got shot. - Great graphics. It's awesome. Oh, barbed wire? That does not bother me! I wear it around my feet for traction! - Trying to get that, uh, one there. - (FBE) Now you just captured that point. - Oh, okay, oh, that's good. - I see a target. They're running away from me. - (FBE) The little blue dots mean it's, uh, a teammate. - Oh, that was a teammate? - (FBE) Yep. - Oh, really? You mean to tell me I've been using friendly fire the whole time? (firing) Ay! He killed me again. I know now the secret. - (FBE) What's that? - I should go really fast and then shoot at it right away. - There's some rocks. There's more rocks. There's more rocks. Oops, oops, oops, oops, oops! Is that my friend? - (FBE) I think that's your friend, yep. - Oh, then I don't won't shoot my friend. - Wait a minute, that's a German flag! That's my flag! I'd better protect it then. Jawohl. Ja! (speaking German) (speaking German aggressively) - I'm trying to get the, uh, technique of this and I feel like I'm doing a better job. The more I feel like I have a little bit of talent, the more interested I am in the game. All of my moral complaints about hurting people or something like that are kind of not in the picture right now. "Deploy armored train." A train is coming through there? (train whistle blows) Where would a train come through that? I wouldn't think there'd be any tracks left. - (voice-over) We have an armored train on route. - I know, I can hear it. Don't kill me, please. You did kill me. Oh, Josie, you're getting old. - Okay, so now I'm on the train. Now, okay, I just let the train go and I try to look for bad guys? Okay, there it is. So shoot-- shoot the bad guys. I'm way up in the air. I'm flying! - Where's my gun? I don't even know where my-- Do I have a gun? I don't seem to have one anymore. I guess I'm just doing the train. (firing) Oh, I see, it's a turret on the train. I didn't-- (scoffs) I just got blown up. - (voice-over) We have taken Objective... - Okay, so now I'm up-- it looks like an attic. Are we hiding? - Oh my god, I'm flying? But who am I trying to get? Oh. (laughing) - Gee. Ooh. (plane instruments going haywire) Oh, is that-- oh no, no! (laughing) I was just going to say, that is cool. (firing) - They hit me again, I think. It's really affecting me, like I'm the one that's being really hit. (laughing) - (voice-over) We have lost Objective George. - Do you mean E? - (FBE) You just captured it. You just captured a flag. - I did? Seems I didn't do anything. - I guess you really have to spend a lot of time doing these games to know what you're doing, and... I don't know if that many is left. - I don't see any flags. - "Defeat?!" It means I lost? - "Defeat." Oh. - "Defeat." - I guess I'm defeated. - "Victory." Somebody took them down. Was that me? - Oh, I just got defeated. So which one-- - (FBE) You were the German side. You were the left one. I was the left guy? No wonder I lost! I should lose. - "Defeat." I captured 31 flags? - (FBE) No, the other team did. - Oh. (laughing) I think that it might take me several years to learn it. - Oh no, did I die again? - (FBE) No, your team lost. - I can see why. I was on it. (laughing) - I liked this. Of all the games that you've asked me to play, this was the best. - This much action, it threw me off at first because I don't think of World War I as having this much action in it. - Most of the kids probably don't even know what the hell World War I is. My impression of the war, I think of trenches, and people being hungry, and people being wet. Here, they were just running around. - I could see where that game could be really terrifically exciting, especially if you were effective, but I wasn't very confident most of the time. - Battlefield 1 is number one. If I could play it again, for, like, 15 hours, I could maybe shoot somebody except me. (laughing) - Thanks for watching this episode of Elders Gaming on the React channel. - What games should we play next? Let us know in the comments. - Definitely more explosions here than in history class. Bye, everyone. - Hey everybody, Derek here, a producer from the React channel. Look, I don't have time to talk right now. Apparently, there's donuts in the break room.
