A new World of Warcraft mount, an interview with developers that gives us more insight
about pet battles, Titan gets delayed til 2016, new Hearthstone cards unveiled, and
stick around to the end to find out how to win a 60-day WoW game time card from us! Hey
guys, Jess here, and this is Blizzard News, brought to you by Curse and MMO-Champion!
First up, a new mount is available on the Blizzard Store - the Armored Bloodwing mount.
It's available for $25 dollars (or 20 Euros), and MMO-Champ just gave away 10 of them! Unfortunately
the giveaway closed on Friday so you just missed it...but, you're in luck! We're giving
one away as well! Stick around to the end of the video to find out how to enter our
giveaway.
Next, pet battles - Blizzard's Cory Stockton spoke with Game Diplomat recently about some
of the decisions they made regarding pet battles in 5.3.
FOr instance, THe Lurker Below was going to be a 5.3 battle pet, but it didn't look good
when scaled down. Also, apparently a very large percentage of level 90 players are doing
pet battles or at least trying them, and if players are enthusiastic about pet battle
PvP that's something Blizzard will focus on more in the future.
Patch 5.4 will let you see the health of pets when spectating another player's pet battle.
Also, players enjoyed collecting pets dropping from old raid bosses, so after the second
set of Burning Crusade raid bosses get pets, next would be Wrath of the Lich King raid
bosses - although that's not guaranteed as there are no set plans for WHEN the BC bosses
will get pets.
We'll drop a link in the description if you're interested in listening to the full podcast
interview.
Moving on - in case you missed our weekly roundup on Friday (and click right over here
if you want to watch that), Blizzard's upcoming unnnanounced MMO Titan has been delayed. Blizz
has a very iterative style of development, and according to Mike Morhaime, they recently
realized that Titan was just not going in the direction they wanted, so they reassigned
about 70 of its devs to other teams within the company - the remaining 30 are scrapping
the project and starting over. This means that 2016 is the earliest we could expect
to see Titan's release.
Finally, Blizzard revealed new Hearthstone cards last last week- the long-awaited Sylvanas
Windrunner and Earth Elemental cards! Earth Elemental is tanky and powerful, with 7 attack
and 8 health, but only 5 mana, and the Overload penalty which stipulates that he has less
mana to spend on his next turn. Sylvanas Windrunner has 5 each attack, health, and mana, and has
the power Deathrattle, which steals a random minion from your oponnent when she dies. Be
sure to check out Hearthpwn for info on the new Hearthstone cards.
That's does it for news. And if you've stuck around this far, here's how you can win a
30 days of WoW subscription time: I wanna see you guys design a battle pet. What would
its name be? What kind of abilities would it have? Is it an elemental, humanoid? What
features would it have? Comment on this video and tell me as much as you want about it - the
best and most creative commenter will win an Armored Bloodwing!
And that's all for this week! Be sure to subscribe to both Curse and MMO-Champion on YouTube
