Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles I'm not sure if you follow the NFL but one of the biggest stories this past year was the story of Dak Prescott, a phenom rookie quarterback who replaced the injured Tony Romo and led his team to a 13-3 record. This is a big deal because Tony Romo was actually pretty good, but now he's not playing. This is kind of the story of the NFL. Tom Brady replaces an injured Drew Bledsoe and never looks back. Aaron Rogers replaces Brett Favre. Joe Montana, the great, was even replaced by Steve Young. People move on. I'm guessing that you are not a former NFL quarterback lamenting rejection that happened in your work life. But I'm guessing you may have faced rejection in your life. Maybe it was a divorce, maybe an ugly divorce. Maybe your spouse looked at pornography and you feel rejected so much so that you don't feel like you have any value anymore. How can you compete with that? Maybe it's simply, as simple as the kids like hanging out at the other friends' house rather than your house. Every one of us faces rejection. And that's a story that we tell ourselves because where does that lead? It leads to a hole and it leads to us questioning ourselves. It leads to us questioning our value. But God tells a different story. In the book of Isaiah, chapter 53, it says, Our Savior was rejected. Our Savior was despised. In John it said, "He came to his own. His own did not receive him." He went to preach in the synagogue and they wanted to kill him. Nobody wanted him. But why? So that we didn't have to listen to a story of rejection, that we're unforgivable and unlovable. Instead, we have a different story. Jesus was rejected so you could be accepted. Jesus was despised so that you could be cherished by your heavenly Father. Jesus was broken so you could be put back together and hear a different story, a story that says you are loved by God. I'm really excited to be hosting the 'Time of Grace' television program this month. So, please join me and Pastor Jeske as we take a look at how do you make a difference as a connector?
