Lesson 9
This Isn't the Life Which I Want
Page 102 Dialogue
Listen to the dialogue.
(In the dining room)
Hi, Lisa. Hurry and wash up.
Tonight, we’re having your favorite dinner—pizza and cola.
Mom, I’m so tired and stressed out.
I just want to sit on the sofa and watch TV right now.
Lisa, why are you pulling a long face?
Are you OK?
No, I’m not.
I have to study seven days a week.
I never get a break.
I can’t even go on a barbecue or a picnic with my friends.
This isn’t the life which I want.
Oh, Lisa. I didn’t know that.
Mom.... I didn’t want to tell you that and let you down.
This isn’t good for you.
It’s not the life that you want.
Now, let’s sit down and make a plan.
What should I do?
During the week, you can keep your study plan, but on weekends, you can do exercise with your friends or get a new hobby.
Are you sure this will be OK, Mom?
Lisa, you’re the apple of my eye.
This will never change even if you don’t get good grades.
I want you to do well at school, but I also want you to be happy.
