and it was adapted into a movie in 2014

with Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort

playing a part as lovers that suffer from cancer

and Gus is using this quote to describe

the situation of his best friend Isaac, who had just gone through a breakup.

現在正在經歷分手之痛的摯友 Isaac 的現況

"Demand" means 要求，so the "pain" is personified here

Demand 就是要求，那這裡把「痛苦」擬人化

to let it be capable of "demanding"

讓他變成一個可以提出「要求」的人

Perhaps, 'okay' will be our 'always.'

This bland word then become their promise to each other

The reason why Gus boldly confessed his feelings for Hazel

is that Hazel was just bravely being herself

and that's why Gus like her so much

所以 Gus 才如此喜歡這個女孩

thinking her as an utterly unprecedented existence.

覺得她是獨一無二的

The "idea" in "Have no idea" means 點子、想法

Have no idea 這邊的 idea 就是點子、想法

which means "not knowing anything, having no thought"

意思就是「完全不知道、毫無頭緒」的意思

The word "Utterly" is not that common. It means “completely”

Utterly 這個字可能比較少見，意思是完全

just like "fully" and "totally"

跟 fully, totally 的意思相仿

In the word "Unprecedented"

Unprecedented 這個字可以看到

we can see there are prefixes "un" and "pre", which means "never" and "before"

前面有字首 un 以及 pre, 也就是有「沒有」跟「前」

so the word has the meaning of 前所未有的（unprecedented）

所以這個字的意思就是「前所未有的」

What is often mentioned in the story is that how big the "infinity" is

The "forever" here has become something actual

literally means the days that had been counted

To deal with smth. 就是要忍受的意思

which is similar to "to put up with something"

那相同的意思有 to put up with smth.

so they can be used alternately

所以可以交替著用

There's a little bonus

這邊有個小 bonus

if you want to say「忍受某件事情」，you can use the word "bear"

如果想要說「忍受某件事情」，可以用 bear 這個字

The word means 熊 when it's a noun

當做名詞雖然是「熊」

but when it is used as a verb, it has a meaning of 忍受

但是若當做動詞的話，他有「忍受」之意

so "bear with it" does not mean 「跟他一起熊」

所以 bear with it 不是「跟他一起熊」

but it means 「要忍受他」

Though it is painful to be deeply in love but not able to stay together

I still believe Gus is very happy

但我相信，Gus 是很幸福的

because the person he chose is Hazel
