War is a word which was invented

when one territorial group of people

took away other people's lands.

They used force and violence, and war was a media for doing that.

You shot other people, stole their women and

你殺了那些人 搶了他們的女人和資源

their resources for your own gain.

只為你自己的利益

And nations have been at war ever since Man invented weapons.

自從人類發明了武器 國家之間就一直存在著戰爭

And as long as you invent weapons, you're going to have war.

只要你發明了武器 你就會有戰爭

And war is the means of protecting everything you've stolen from others.

戰爭是一種手段 保護著你從別人那裡偷來的東西

No nation starts out very big. They start out smaller

任何國家都是從小國開始的

and take land away from other people.

他們一開始比較小 然後從別人那裡奪取土地

And they don't take it by invitation.

他們不會透過邀請得到土地

They weren't invited to take over the land.

而是通過強取豪奪的方式

They took it by killing, force and violence.

他們強搶 殺人 濫用武力和暴力

And war is the most inappropriate way of solving the differences.

戰爭是解決紛爭裡最糟糕的方式

That's why I'm against the Pentagon and the military.

這就是我為什麼反對五角大樓和軍方

Because they majorly should be concerned with how to bridge the differences

因為他們主要應該關心如何達成共識

and bring nations together towards a common purpose

讓各國致力於朝向共同的目標

namely, taking care of the environment, one another

亦即 保護環境 照顧彼此

and restoring the damaged environment.

修復受損環境

That's what I'd like to see in military systems.

這就是我想看到的"軍事體系"

I would like to see, instead of training millions of soldiers

我想看到的不是 訓練數百萬士兵

to be killing machines,

成為殺人機器

I'd rather train them in being problem solvers.

我寧願他們被訓練成為問題解決者

Send them back to school

把他們送回學校

teach them social science, social things, psychology, sociology

教他們社會科學 社會心理學 社會學

so they can add to the culture, not be destructive.

這樣他們才能促進文化 而不是摧毀
