Jun: Mizuna? (Japanese Mustard Green) Jun: How do you say "Mizuna" in English? Like a Japanese spinach, or something? Rachel: I don't know. I've only ever heard it as "mizuna." Jun: Onions... satoimo potatoes. (aka taro) Jun: Nira. (garlic chives) [Poki meows obnoxiously] Jun: 韮 って なんだ? (What is Nira?) Rachel: Mizuna is Japanese mustard greens. Jun: Huh. Interesting. Jun: Beans, beans! Jun: I think this is radish. (probably daikon) It's in a bag. Jun: Potatoes. Jun: And a bunch of lettuce. Is lettuce countable? Rachel: No. Jun: I got a bunch of lettuce. Rachel: Yeah. Jun: Three bowls of red lettuce? Rachel: Three heads of lettuce. Jun: Heads? Rachel: Yeah. Jun: Because they look like human heads? Rachel: No- I don't know if that's why it's called a head. Rachel: A head of lettuce. Jun: I got bloody three heads of lettuce today...! Jun: Anyway... Jun: Hmm. I don't know what to make, but I'm pretty excited! Jun: Nagi is also excited over there. Jun: And in my last video, a lot of people mentioned that I use a little too much plastic saran wrap. Jun: And you guys inspired me to get this type of "siricone" bag. Silicone bag? Is that how you say? Jun: I can keep reusing forever. They're much better. Jun: So I try to do that. I mean- Rachel (cuts Jun off): Unfortunately, like, Japan just uses a lot of plastic for food. Rachel: Like even in this box, everything comes wrapped in plastic, Rachel: and there's not much we can do about that because that's just kind of how it comes. Rachel: Even if you buy it at the store a lot of it's sold like this. Jun: Yeah, but for my last video, there are a lot of parts when I used plastic Saran wrap just because... Jun: Umm...That's how the recipe says sometimes. Jun: But I'd usually don't use Saran wrap really. So yeah, I just won't use them at all or just stick with this bag I guess. Jun: I think I'll make soup. Jun: And I'm gonna prep a bunch of veggies to make it healthy. I already have dinner for today. Jun: So I guess I'll make it tomorrow. Alright? Jun: See you guys tomorrow. Jun: Are you falling asleep? I guess you are. [Jun laughs] Jun: Hey Poki! How are you doing? Good? Jun: Hehe...aww Haku you're so sleepy. Jun: So I just got a new cutting board thanks to people on Patreon! Thank you so much. Jun: This is uh...like a made of rubber apparently. Jun: Um...So when I cook like fish or meat, the cutting board, no matter how much I clean, it becomes really smelly and fishy. Jun: So I got this cutting board. Apparently it's made of rubber, so it doesn't really become Jun: Smelly when I cook fish. Jun: But I'm not cooking fish today. Jun: [laughs] Has a... Jun: Picture of veggie here: carrot and tomato Jun: Or pig and fish. It's kind of cute. Anyway, I'm gonna use cutting- Jun: I'm gonna use veggie side today. Jun: And see how it feels like. Jun: So I'm gonna just make Jun: A soup with a bunch of veggies. Jun: These are eryngii mushrooms, tomatoes, and green? これ...? (this...?) Jun: I don't know how to say it in English. I'll look it up. Jun: Just... these are getting old but it's still edible. Jun: And these are baby leaves and this is another type of spinach that I got from the veggie delivery. Jun: So I brought these veggies so I can just, you know, put as much as vegetables as I want whenever I want, pretty much. Jun: And...think I'm gonna dump this...uh. Jun: Green pepper? I got it from my uncle. Jun: Yup. My uncle's green pepper, it's pretty good. Jun: There we go. Jun: This is kinda old. Jun: Tomatoes. [Jun laughs] Jun: My uncle's pepper! [Jun laughs] Jun: You want to sniff too? Jun: It's really fresh if you give it to me. Jun: Gonna wash veggies. Jun: But when I don't I just use chicken broth that I froze [Add a packet of chicken broth to pot] Jun: And...Veggie broth. [Add a packet of veggie broth to pot] [Stir pot with ladle] [Add veggies] Jun: I love this...[Laughs]...just... I just like doing this. [Snaps sausage in half] Jun: So good. I like the sound. I like the smell. Mm-hmm. Smells good! [Add one sausage to pot] Jun: Sausage. [Add 4 more sausages to pot (5 in total)] Jun: This is uh this is the uh... Jun: Leftover bread from yesterday. Jun: It's sesame bread. Jun: From a convenience store. Jun: I'm gonna toast it. [Folds up plastic wrapper] [Jun laughs] Jun: Nagi just woke up. He loves playing fetch with the plastic wrappers. [Jun laughs] Jun: It's gonna make a mess. Jun: Sorry, I'll play with you later. Jun: I also like these... Jun: Tiny mochi cube bits? Jun: I'm so Japanese. [Pour mochi into bowl] [Ladle soup into bowl with mochi cubes] Jun: There you go. Jun: I like eating sausage with the pepper. Jun: So I'm going to sprinkle some. [Add pepper to soup if you like] Jun: Tada! This is my lunch! Jun: Just a veggie soup. With sausage, this is red pepper. I like eating sausage with pepper. Jun: And leftover sesame bread. Already had a bite. Jun: Haku's tired and sleepy. Jun: He doesn't... Jun: Whoa, whoa! Jun: Whoa! You're gonna steal it? [Jun laughs] Jun: Sorry, this is mine. Jun: Mmm, so good! Sorry, I'll feed you later when I'm done. See ya.
