Hey groupies welcome back to Form of therapy, I'm your channel producer and today, we're checking out "Hellevator" by Stray Kids. Stray kids
I believe is an upcoming
Jyp survival unit type show, I don't know what to expect from this. I'm willing to give it a chance because
Pick me by produce 101
Season 2 was amazing so I'm hoping that this
Song that showcases these boys is talents these voices these boys talents is
Something impressive, ok? So let's dive right into it
The logo design is very interesting
Very... grungy
Ok this is not what I was expecting. I like it so far
This boy! Oh, he's great!
OH! What the fuck, their rappers! Holy shit
Fucking rapping A+
I feel like this bridge lacks a little bit more momentum
But I like it so far
So that one guy looks like a member from ASTRO
Oh!
Oh yes!
This is like
This is like a very sad version of never I feel like you know that's sort of EDM element
But with way better rapping
Whoa! That rapping does not match that dudes face
This kid too - oh my god, what does have all the talent in this group what the fuck?
That kid sort of looked like someone from JYP. Mark maybe?
It's good I think
Is it? I don't know
Okay, I know I've been commenting on the song, but the choreography is really very very beautiful as well
Oh
Interesting two of the members, like everyone's wearing black, but two of the members are wearing white
I wonder if, like why are they meant to stand out? I'm very curious, or if it's just for aesthetic purposes
More rapping yes, please, this song is so much rapping. I love it
Oh, that's a really cool imagery
I love this EDM sound. This sounds so very
Nostalgic
Bit of men-, bit of melancholy
So much angst
I love how he did that, it's like I'm on a-
I like that guy, the one with the hoodie, I don't I don't know any of the names but
This is fucking- Wow
Stray Kids
Shit do I have to watch this show because I'm fucking impressed
okay, am I wrong
I thought Stray kids was supposed to be a survival show or like. I don't know it's like
a competition show elimination show whatever isn't it supposed to be a show?
Where you're building a group?
Because they seem polished as hell
I think the singing was a little bit weak in some of the verses
and I do feel a little bit of a rookie-ness to them
They all seem extremely very young as well, and so I do think they need a little bit more chiseling
But if you were telling me that this was a boy group debut, and maybe it is maybe I'm just wrong
But if you were telling me that this is a boy group debut
I would be like: That's a strong fucking debut. First of all their rap line
I saw somewhere on Twitter someone says that
JYP is finally doing rap justice or doing the rap line justice
this was like on a whole different level. This put a-
this puts a lot of k-pop groups to shame
And they are like really young rookies Wow
And a lot of the members look like other members and other groups like
some of the members look like members from Monsta X
Some of the members look like some of the members from who's 101 or Astro
I don't know I could just be
Hallucinating. There's a lot of talent in this group
I think I I don't think the singing was necessarily weak in the sense that they're bad singers
I think their voices are just a little bit underdeveloped, but also more importantly
I think that bridge the writing was kind of weak in in the song composition
So I don't think that's their fault actually I think this group these members as a whole
They are really really strong
and this was a very strong concept going in video production wise
There's really not much to comment on I feel like this was pretty simple
this was done on a relatively smaller budget obviously it's still very high quality
if this is meant to sort of be a trailer and
Essentially just a very long commercial for the show it hits its mark
I definitely recognize the main stage that they use
For their dancing for the choreography part. It's like this
Cylindrical kind of building where VIXX's The Closer shot there
and a lot of other k-pop groups have also shot there
So I recognize that set
but overall I like the concept of the hellevator the very dark theme with brushed blacks and the reds and
It was a very interesting contrast because you have these scenes where it's like very very dark
It's very very red, and then you have these opposite scenes which are very cold
And it's a slightly desaturated and some of the members are wearing white so it was a good clash in the video
But not like it was clashing in a bad way
I think it was clashing in a way that you are almost like like they are they're in angst - they're at war with each
Other and so, I think that was very good on their part
This song is really really strong like I said, it sounds like honestly like a successor to never for me anyways
I'm a sucker for like a really catchy EDM drop
and they did it very well here like I said it kind of reminds me of never but it's like a lot more sad and
I don't know what to do am I supposed to check out this group and I'm supposed to like
follow their show like I don't I don't watch competition shows at all like I've never seen one at all but
This was so good. This was so impressive this makes me want to see it
