learn. Okay. Let's take a look at the note here. This proverb is used after one has

learned something from experience, especially through your mistakes. All right. That's the first way we might use it. Or a second way we might use it is use for

expressing surprise and learning or discovering something new. You have just

learned or you just realize is really true or correct. Then you would say live

and learn too. So even if you didn't do it yourself, but you experienced about it,

you can also say live and learn All right. Let's look at several examples

here . All right. Example number one. I once took an overnight train. A train trip in

Mexico and all the lights in the cars were out during the whole entire trip.

Most of the passengers carried flashlights and when the conductor got

on the train he used his flashlights to actually

check tickets. Now before this you know I had traveled through Europe and I had

gone on many overnight trains it was never like that but this was it really

surprised me that in Mexico that the all the lights of all the cars were

completely out and even between stop sometimes vendors would come on the

train still try to sell you stuff in the dark. But they had flashlights too showing you what they were selling.

So it was an interesting experience. Even though , we say even though

it was an interesting experience, it was very uncomfortable and I couldn't get

any sleep or rest. After the experience all I could say was well live and learn. Well

at least in Mexico I I went back to taking ...traveling the other way Ijust

took over night buses. I wouldn't take an overnight train anymore . I didn't want to

be in the train with the car where's everything everything is completely dark.

Many of the other passengers I guess they were experienced. They came with

flashlights. They all had their little flashlights but it was a different

experience. Now I don't know if this is still this way now. This was over 20

years ago. Maybe over 25 years ago that I did that.

But that was that was quite an experience. But anyway this is one where

you say live and learn. Let's look at number two.

You mean that story reported all over the news turned out to be a hoax.

I guess fake news is real. Live and learn. Well sometimes you just discover

something real like something oh well, I guess that's the way it really is.

Sometimes they report fake stories. Or number three here. I used to be up 30% on

that stock, but I held on to it too long. Yes anybody whoever invested in the stock

market you might have to learn a lot of lessons. You might make mistakes. Holding

a stock too long selling it too soon or whatever it is that you do,

there's a lot of mistakes you can make. But this would be a typical one. I held

on too long and by the time I sold it. It was down 30% . Oh

at one point you could have sold it and made 30 percent by the time you did sell

it you actually lost thirty percent of what you were you know or whatever you

was your original price they you paid. Okay. Good. Let's look at number four.

This would be the last example here. I opened my own coffee shop where my own

shop without any previous business experience and I ended up going out of

business in six months. All right. So this is like an a/b one two and the last one

was an AV one as well and they say well live and learn. So that's what you might

do. Well I invested in this and didn't work out. Well live and learn. So remember

live and learn. The live part really is from experience you go through the

experience and you learn by the experience. So you live and learn. Okay.
