Ok, you better Aca-believe it. I went to this movie, and I wasn't forced I actualy wanted to go.
Pitch Perfect
A musical, which we don't have many of. And like most musicals this is also a Comedy, so there you go.
The main theme of this movie though, is acapella
So throwing aside most ofwhat you're use to in musicals
Because this is a different kind of type of music
So for those of you who don't know what acapella is, it's where the music is only done through the mouth
So beats, rythme and so forth are only done with your mouth. It's a little different than your regular style musicals
And I have to say I feel it played out a lot differently then most musicals
This movie dosen't, for the most part, fall in the same theme. Like Rock of Ages added itself to the contemporary use of musical.
So let's get Pitch Slapped here, caus the cast here isn't your rune of the mill musical stars
For the most part none of them actualy have any kind of musical backround
Britney snow aside, 'cause she actually does have some musical backround.
Thing is though they give her an excuse to not be any good in this movie. So they kindda handicap their best singer
They do it for a good reason, cause the others can actually sing. Suprizingly
ALright I'll go off on some of the actor/actress. Because for the most part I only know some of them.
Anna Kendrick, she's our main star. I think she did a realy good job, she suprized me, \cause I didn't think she could sing
Though there's a reason to that, and she learns herself how to sing. She'd rather be a DJ, she's really good at mixing music
Which that adds itself to this movie in a different dynamic
Our co-star for her "Fat Amy". Also suprises me as she also sings.
She has a really cocky attitude, she thinks she's the best at everything.
In this movie, she does most of the comedy., but she does back it up with some singing talent
Britney Snow, is handicaped to her singing capabilities. Not to mention that she still does sing in this movie
So you do get to hear her sing, so don't worry
So I can actually go on for a little longer of the rest of cast and characters, but I'll stop here.
As for the most part I don't really remember their names. Thing is I'd rather go off on other things and not take up all your time.
Thing is these cast of characters play up their sterotypes really well.
I think what might have just happend is they were given a sterotype and just ran with it.
And they don't try to add any unnecessary complications to their back stories
I said this is a comedy, and yes there are comedy pieces, but don't hold yourself to this being a comedy
It plays itself as a musical at first then adds some comedy as well. That said it still is a comedy and you still expect some laughs
It plays itself as a musical at first then adds some comedy as well. That said it still is a comedy and you still expect some laughs
And you do get them to break up the dramatic scene
The idea of the story, not giving anythign away when saying this. Is regionals
The Glee idea, build it up, go to the next level, build it up. That's basically it
The story's not complex. Back story of characters, not complex. You're jsut focusing on the music.
Think the did a good job with it. Yo actually see the other guys
You see the other competitions, and you get some other songs in that sence
So it's not centerally focused on the one competing team, and their arch nemesis
One last hing I wanted to point out; Lesbi-honest, Britney Snow pulls of off a ginger really well.
On to rating
Gonna give this one a 3/5 Aca-xcuse me's
