Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Hi this is Tutor Nick P and this is Adverb Phrase 7. The adverb phrase today is bar none. Okay. Let's take a look at the note. If we say bar none, it can mean no exception or with no exception or for sure. For sure, certainly with no exception. We often use bar none to express that someone or something is the best of its kind and nobody is better. It literally means excluding none, Remember excluding means not including. So if you say not including none, it means you're including them all. So if you're saying somebody's the best when you're including them all. You mean they are the very best. They are number one. So that's the way we use it. So bar none. So barring none, not including none. So that means you're including everyone. Okay. Anyway, we got our three common examples. This is the way it would normally be used. She makes the best cheesecake bar none. Meaning again, nobody's better without exception, for sure, certainly. She definitely makes the best cheesecake. That was the best Marvel movie bar none. So if you're a Marvel fan. You like a lot of the Marvel movies. Maybe this one you thought was better than even all the rest. So you say that was the best Marvel movie bar none. So without exception. You think this is number one. Or number three here. That is the best Italian restaurant in the city bar none. Meaning there aren't any other Italian restaurants in the city that are better than this one. For sure, by far. This one is better than others. Okay. Anyway I hope you got it. I hope it's clear. Thank you for your time. Bye-bye.
