Hi this is Tutor Nick P and this is Proverbs 131. The proverb
today is if you snooze you lose. Okay. Let's take a look at the note . To snooze
means to sleep for a short time, especially a nap. So we often say to take
a snooze or go for a snooze. So basically if you snooze you know, basically you're
sleeping probably for a short period of time. Let's continue. This proverb
basically means if you don't act quickly you won't get what you want. All right.
Let's continue. Even though, take a snooze usually means to take a nap, in this
proverb it basically means to not be paying attention , especially when
opportunity knocks. So if you're not paying attention, you won't see the good
opportunity. You won't be able to ...you won't be able to take advantage of it. So
it's like you'll be snoozing . You'll be sleeping. Like you know snoring when the
opportunity comes and you'll miss it. So that's what we mean. So if you snooze , you
lose. Okay. Anyway, let's look at a couple of examples here. Example number one. If
you want to make money in the stock market you need to do your homework.
Homework always means research, in the sense and keep updated with the sudden
changes in the market. If you snooze , you lose. So if you're not paying attention,
like daily or every day or every other day or maybe throughout the day, you may
miss the good opportunity. So if you snooze, you lose. Okay number two here. I
want to go to that annual clearance sale first thing in the morning. A lot of
departments stores, maybe once a year they'll have a big clearance sale.
Usually a lot of people will go, but maybe you want to be one of the first
people there because you know if they still have some really good stuff left,
probably the best stuff will be gone,if you wait until the afternoon. So that's
what they say here. If you... if you wait too long all the best bargains will be
sold out. Remember if you snooze, you lose Okay. Anyway, I hope you got it. I hope
it's clear. Thank you for your time. Bye-bye.
