  • Hi this is Tutor Nick P and this is Proverbs 129. The proverb today is

  • foresight is better than hindsight. Now remember, foresight that's when you can

  • try to anticipate or look into the future about possible things that might

  • happen. Hindsight is after bad things happen and you're looking backward and

  • you're saying, oh I should have done this or I should have done that. We often say

  • we always know something that we should have done in hindsight. After it's

  • already over. Then we were much smarter and we know what we should

  • have done. So let's continue with the note here. This proverb basically means

  • it is better to anticipate and try to prevent future problems. So trying to see

  • where future problems might be coming and try to do something just in case

  • they did come. Then to only realize how it could have been averted or

  • avoided . Averted you know, you got out of the way of it or you were able to take care

  • of it. So that they the bad thing did not affect you too seriously before the

  • fact. Before the fact that it actually happens. Okay. We have a couple of

  • examples here. Example number one even though, many people mocked preppers. Yeah.

  • A number of years ago we're hearing about a lot of prepers , especially people

  • that were worried about you know, a financial crash, a worldwide crash and they were

  • trying to save up a lot, just in case this happened and it wouldn't be able to

  • get supplies and things like that. So even though many people mocked them, some

  • people made fun of them, there were a number of cases where bad storms had

  • negatively affected many areas. Now even though they were preparing for her a

  • large financial crash and that didn't happen, they were still prepared. They

  • were prepared for any sort of disaster and so when some disasters did strike

  • and everybody else was in a bad situation because they weren't prepared

  • the preppers were. So in these cases the preppers were prepared because they

  • thought foresight was better than hindsight. So even though it wasn't

  • exactly what they were expecting, they were still prepared because they it was

  • the same sort of preparations that you needed

  • for that. Maybe even, maybe even more because maybe you were preparing for a

  • longer period of time. This bad storm was probably only shorter. So you're one of

  • the few people that's prepared . In that case you might even be able to help a

  • few people. Not everybody, but a few. Okay. Let's look at the second one here. Some

  • people buy insurance because they believe that foresight is better than

  • hindsight. Yeah. I mean that's what they always tell you when they try to get you

  • to buy insurance too. You know just in case something bad happened,

  • then you'd be covered. You have some insurance for it. This is why people do

  • that. Sometimes. Okay. Anyway I hope you got it. I hope it was clear. Thank you for your

  • time. Bye-bye.
