Now in this video we are discussing baking soda uses. Baking soda is that ingredient that most people keep in their kitchen inside their kitchen cupboard and they only pull it out when they go to actually bake. But the thing is that this simple ingredient has so many uses. Not only does it have tons of health benefits that it offers but it has so many uses around the home when it comes to naturally cleaning your home with toxic-free, chemical-free cleaners. So in that video we're going to go ahead and discuss this topic and let you know how you can use it in more ways around your home. Produce Wash: Now when it comes to washing your vegetables this is important, because not only could they have dirt on them they could possibly have bugs on them but you also are going want to make sure you are getting the chemicals from the growing process and chemicals from the transportation process off of them; and then plus handling- typically a lot of people are handling the produce before you get it. So it's always good to clean it. What you do is you fill your sink up with water, you put some baking soda in there, a couple drops of essential oils that are going to help kill bacteria and things of that nature, and also a little bit of vinegar is going to help as well. Scrub up those vegetables, put them in your refrigerator nice and clean and ready for consumption. Ant Repellant: So what you do is you take the baking soda and mix salt with it, about half and half, and you can sprinkle this around in order to get rid of those pesky ants from the house or from even around the house. Deodorizer: I've used this multiple times when it comes to around the home, you just don't want those unwanted smells. So whether it's deodorizing a bathroom, a garbage can, a refrigerator, a smelly shoe, carpets, mattresses, whatever- it works really well and it works as a way to freshen up the air and once again get those unwanted smells out of the home. Detergent Booster: Sometimes when you're taking your clothes - let's say work-out clothes - and you just can't get those smells and odors out of them. What you can do is you can take some baking soda and add some in to your detergent when you are washing your clothes and it works very well in order to help boost that detergent and get you better results when cleaning your clothes. Degreaser: Sometimes in the kitchen when you're trying to get some of the grease off these different pots, pans, and silverware- essentially not only taking the soap and soaking the pan but also adding in a little of the baking soda is going to help cut through that grease so you can get it off and get the dishes cleaned much easier. Weed killer: This is one I was not familiar with, it was kind of interesting when I came across it in my research. Basically what they say is you can take baking soda and sprinkle it on the unwanted weeds and unwanted plants and it's going to kill it. I am very interested in this because around my home we are always looking for ways to kill off all the weeds but of course not use the Round-up, Glyphosate or other toxic things. I don't want those around my home so we're going to give it a try this summer. If you have any experience with it be sure and share it. Fire extinguisher: When you have the baking soda and let's say a fire flares up. Maybe in your kitchen, maybe around the home or anywhere there's an unwanted fire you can use baking soda to react with the heat and to create carbon dioxide. It will essentially go and extinguish that fire. Cleaning kitchen utensils: Pots and pans that have burn marks in them or stains in them- you can use baking soda- soak them in that and scrub it with to clean that up. You can do that with silverware as well, you can scrub your silverware with baking soda it helps out quite a bit with getting everything cleaned up. Health Benefits: Baking soda has tons of health benefits, whether it's your kidney health, the anti-cancer benefits, the skin and oral hygiene benefits- lots of benefits when it comes to your overall heath. I put a link to a video that I did video on the right hand side up here and I'll put it in the description below and you can go see how baking soda has health benefits beyond what we're talking about here. Air Freshener: Whether it's a bathroom or your refrigerator it works as an awesome air freshener. What you can do is you take some essential oils, mix it up with the baking soda, add a little bit of a scent in there. The reason I like it so much as an air freshener is it really helps to actually deodorize the air versus a candle or something that's scented just works to mask the problem, this actually works to solve the problem. So these are all the different uses that you can utilize baking soda for. Be sure to share this with your friends and give this video a thumb up and in the comments section let me know how you use baking soda around your home. I'm sure there's some ways that I didn't even mention here that you use it so put it in the comment section there below also any questions you might have.
