Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles ABOUT 60 MILES EAST OF LOS ANGELES. HUNDREDS OF CARS STOPPED WITH CONDITIONS SO BAD POLICE HAD TO SHUT DOWN A COUPLE OF BUSY HIGHWAYS. HAD A LIVE LOOK OUTSIDE HERE, SMOOTH SAILING ON OUR ROADWAYS AND TEMPERATURES IN THE 60s. MEGAN GLAROS IS HERE WITH THE WARMEST DAY EVER AFTER CHRISTMAS IN CHICAGO. WHAT IS GOING ON? MOTHER NATURE IS REAL CONFUSED. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA HAS SNOW AND WE HAVE NOTHING BUT ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL STUFF. FEELS MORE LIKE APRIL THAN DECEMBER 26. WE ARE AT 59 AT MIDWAY, 61 FOR GARY, COLDER AND McHENRY AND DeKALB INTO THE 30s. WHY? THEY ARE FINALLY GETTING THE IMPACT OF THAT FRONT AS IT STARTS TO COME THROUGH. WE TALK ABOUT THE FRONT AND IT WILL COME THROUGH WITH NO PRECIPITATION. AND I STRUNG A NICE DRY FRONTAL PASSAGE. LET'S TAKE YOU TO THE BIG PICTURE, THERE IS THE ISSUE TO THE SOUTH AND WEST AROUND LOS ANGELES, VEGAS, NOW ARIZONA. ALL OF THAT STUFF IS OUR NEXT WEATHER MAKER. IT'S GOING TO MARCH STEADILY ACROSS THE COUNTRY WHEN IT ARRIVES HERE WE BEGIN TO SEE A LITTLE BIT OF A DOWNHILL SPECTRUM IN THE WEATHER DEPARTMENT. WE ARE GOOD TODAY, THE REST OF IT WE ARE GREAT ON FRIDAY. WE DO SEE OBVIOUSLY THE RAIN STARTED TO PUSH IN ON SATURDAY. THAT'S RAIN THROUGHOUT SATURDAY ALL THE WAY INTO THE DAY SUNDAY. WE ARE STILL DEALING WITH SHOWERS. I SEE A BACKSIDE OF THIS WITH WRAPAROUND MOISTURE BRINGING IN SOME SOMEWHAT COLDER AIR AS WELL. MAYBE A LITTLE BIT OF SNOW, I DON'T THINK WE ARE TALKING MUCH OF THE EMULATION FROM THIS THOUGH. THERE COULD BE A PRETTY DECENT AMOUNT OF RAINFALL COMING THROUGH BETWEEN SATURDAY AND SUNDAY AND EARLY MONDAY BEFORE WE START TO SEE THAT CHANGE OVER TO THAT MIX PRECIPITATION AS THE SYSTEM WRAPS UP. IN FACT, IT COULD BE ANYWHERE FROM ABOUT A HALF-INCH TO THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH. IT'S A PRETTY GOOD GUESS FOR US RAINFALL LIES. I WOULDN'T COUNT ON ANY WONDERFUL, BEAUTIFUL ACTIVITIES OUT THERE SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. WE TALKED ABOUT THE FACT THAT THE COLD FRONT IS COMING THROUGH TONIGHT, REALLY RIGHT NOW. TEMPERATURES ARE JUST GOING TO DROP. WE ARE AT 34 DEGREES AT 9 AM TOMORROW MORNING AND THEN WE GET UP ONLY INTO THE LOW 40s TOMORROW. YES THAT IS WAY COLDER THAN WHAT WE HAD TODAY BY 20 DEGREES. YOU WILL NOTICE A BIG DIFFERENCE. IT'S STILL ABOUT 10 DEGREES ABOVE AVERAGE. JUST TO PUT IT ALL INTO PERSPECTIVE WE WERE 30 DEGREES ABOVE THE NORM TODAY. WE HAD 61 OUT THERE, IT WAS A RECORD WARMTH, BUT NOW WE ARE DROPPING BACK DOWN 40 DEGREES FOR TOMORROW. THEN WE GO BACK UP WITH THAT RAIN IN THE FORECAST SATURDAY AND SUNDAY COME BACK DOWN AGAIN AND THEN RIGHT BACK UP AGAIN CHARLIE TO START 2020.
