Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles CAN HONOR THAT DATE. A REAL-TIME CHECK OF THE WEATHER NOW WITH A LIVE LOOK OUTSIDE, THE SKYLIGHT THERE, METEOROLOGIST MARY KAY KLEIST IS HERE TRACKING A BIG WARM-UP ON THE WAY FOR US. NOT QUITE YET, BUT ON THE WEEKEND QUITE A TREAT COMING YOUR WAY. 22 DEGREES IS WHERE WE STAND, WE ONLY MADE IT TO 24. I WANTED TO SEE THIS BECAUSE OUR NORMAL HIGH IS 37 DEGREES. WE WERE WAY OFF TODAY. IN FACT RIGHT NOW IT FEELS LIKE 14 DEGREES. IF YOU HAVE EVENING PLANS AND SKIES WILL BE CLEAR, WINDS START TO RELAX AS WELL BUT THE TEMPERATURE WILL BE CALLED COME INTO THE MIDTEENS BY 11 O'CLOCK TONIGHT AND IN FACT RIGHT NOW WE ARE AT 70 DEGREES IN DeKALB, THAT WILL BE ONE PLACE WHERE THE READINGS FALL TO ABOUT 10 AND FOUR BY 10 AM AND PROBABLY SINGLE DIGITS FOR MORNING LOWS. AS WE GO INTO NORTHWEST INDIANA THAT'S WHERE LOWS WILL BE IN THE TEENS AND THE MOST FAR FROM LOW GARY TO RENSSELAER AND IN THE LAPORTE, BUT 11th IN THE KEEGAN AND THEN ABOVE IN AURORA. TODAY WE HAD SOME CLOUDS AND FLURRIES IN NORTHWEST INDIANA AND SOUTHWEST LOWER MICHIGAN BECAUSE OF THE NORTHWESTERLY WIND COMPONENT, BUT THAT KEEPS PULLING IN THE DRYER AIR AND THAT CLEARED OUT THE SKIES ON THE ILLINOIS SIDE, ALLOWING FOR A LOT OF SUNSHINE. AS WE GOT IN THE MORNING HOURS TOMORROW WE WILL HAVE A BRIGHT START. WINDS START CHURNING AND THEY START EARNING MORE SOUTHWESTERLY DURING THE DAY AND THAT TAKES TEMPERATURES BACK TO WHERE THEY SHOULD BE THIS TIME OF YEAR FOR THE AFTERNOON. BUT NOTICE, NO CLOUDS, NO RAIN, NO SNOW IN YOUR FRIDAY FORECAST. IT'S LOOKING QUITE NICE, DOMINATED BY SUNSHINE AS THOSE WINDS START TO PICK UP OUT OF THE SOUTHWEST. THAT IS SIGNIFICANT, BECAUSE THAT IS HOW WE SET UP THE WARMING FOR THE WEEKEND. IN THE MORNING ON FRIDAY IT LOOKS LIKE CLOSER TO THE WISCONSIN STATE LINE, THAT'S WHERE THE WINDS WILL BE STRONGEST OR THE COURSE OF THE DAY. THEN AS WE GO THROUGH THE DAY COULD LOOK AT THE SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS PICK UP, EVEN THROUGH SUNSET AND IN THE EVENING HOURS. IF YOU ARE GOING OUT FRIDAY NIGHT WE WILL HAVE 30 TO 35 MILE-PER-HOUR WIND GUSTS IN SOME SPOTS CLOSER TO THE NORTH AND NORTHWEST SUBURBS. BUT THE WINSLOW KEEPS PULLING IN THE MILDER AIR. SO HIGHS TOMORROW SHOULD REACH 40 IN JOLIET, PROBABLY 38 AT THE AIRPORT, 37 AND RENSSELAER IN ABOUT 39 DEGREES FOR US. THEN WE PROCEED ALL THE WAY TO 47 SATURDAY AS WE KEEP THE SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS GOING AND NOTHING BUT SUNSHINE IN THE FORECAST. EVEN WHEN WE LOOK AT OUR RADAR TRACKER, LOOK AT SUNDAY STILL DRY, HIGH-PRESSURE IN PLACE, A LOT OF SUNSHINE TO START THE DAY. THEN OUR NEXT SYSTEM PULLS FROM THE FOUR CORNERS REGION AND STARTS MOVING ACROSS THE COUNTRY, MAKING US WET ON MONDAY MORNING. TEMPERATURES ON MONDAY WILL STILL BE IN THE 40s. I THINK WE WILL HAVE MOSTLY RAIN AND MAYBE SOME SNOW SHOWERS AS A PULLS AWAY FOR US ON TUESDAY. THAT'S WHY WE GET A LITTLE BIT OF SLOPPY STAFF LATE FROM BACK OUR SUNDAY WITH LIGHT RAIN LEADING IN EARLY NEXT WEEK. BUT LET'S NOT FOCUS ON THAT,
