  • Here's why.

  • Blizzards Warcraft three.

  • Apology Has fans in an uproar It's been a wild few years for Blizzard, the game studio behind titles like Hearthstone Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo and, of course, my favorite Overwatch.

  • After the disasters announcement for the mobile version of Diablo, which left fans booing them at their own convention back in 2018 Blizzard rebounded a little bit with the highly praised launch of World of Warcraft Classic in 2019.

  • But now it seems, Fan's air turning against them once more with the release of Warcraft three.

  • Re Forge, the re master of their classic riel time strategy game.

  • In fact, fan reaction has been so bad to this game that Blizzard is reportedly already offering instant refunds and have posted an apology for a game that was released just a week ago.

  • So what happened?

  • Let's break it down right now.

  • Now.

  • Originally back in 2002 Warcraft three's Reign of Chaos and his 2003 expansion The Frozen Throne were considered by many in there Artie s community to be hallmarks of the genre.

  • So in 2018 when Blizzard announced the game was getting something between a remake and re master with Warcraft.

  • Three re forged fans were understandably hyped, according to Blizzard, not only with the Games user interface and graphics be revamped entirely to fit modern gaming aesthetics, but they were also going to overhaul the cut scenes with new dialogue and make changes to the campaign that would help make the game better fit into Warcraft lore, as well as adding things in like dynamic camera angles.

  • And not surprisingly, fans were extremely on board for all of this.

  • But when Warcraft three Re Forced was finally released on January 28th fans were quick to note that what they were promised and what they were got were two wildly different things.

  • First of all, the graphics.

  • While many praised the much higher quality unit models and other graphical overhauls in practice, they didn't actually add that much to the game because our T s games are usually played zoomed out to see as much of the battlefield as possible.

  • You can see these high end graphics if you zoom all the way in, but that's not really an effective way to play this game, so it makes it kind of a moot point if you add that some players have reported audio and visual bugs along with other issues.

  • With the games you I like missing ladder and clan features.

  • And as for those dynamic new cut scenes, well, here's what fans were promised.

  • What?

  • How can you even consider that?

  • And here's what fans got.

  • What?

  • How can you even consider that now?

  • To be fair, those trailers were caveated with the statement that the graphics weren't final.

  • But most gamers took that to mean they would actually improve by the game's release and not the other way around.

  • What, however, one of the biggest new complaints that players had is now all of the fan created content made with world editor, including new maps, is now owned by Blizzard outright.

  • Three New Terms of service agreement.

  • Now I understand why they did this.

  • If you remember something like Dona Defense of the Ancients that started as a Warcraft three custom map, and then they lost out on so much revenue when it turned into its own self contained ecosystem that's now owned by Valve.

  • But I di aggress.

  • If gamers were hoping to just sit this version out and stick to the original release of the game.

  • Well, that's not really an option, either.

  • Existing copies of the original game are required to update to the reports client, even if the player hadn't purchased it.

  • Which means that these problems are also affecting people who didn't even buy Warcraft three re forged.

  • So what is Blizzard done so far to address these issues that has players lighting up the forums?

  • Well, some folks are reporting that their requests for a refund are being immediately approved instead of going through the normal approval process, which means that Blizzard is at least aware of what's going on.

  • Blizzards actually also released an apology of sorts that addresses some of these problems, saying, We've been following the discussions the past couple of days.

  • I want to thank you for your feedback as well.

  • Is your support first off?

  • We want to say we're sorry to those of you who didn't have the experience, you want it and we'd like to share our plans for what's coming next.

  • They go on to commit to supporting this game with a variety of patches and explain some of the choices that were made.

  • The statement even explained the reasoning for the difference between the trailer cut scenes and the final game.

  • We did not want the endgame cut scenes to steer too far from the original game.

  • The main takeaway is that the campaigns tell one of the classic stories in Warcraft history, and we want to preserve the true spirit of Warcraft three and allow players to relive these unforgettable moments as they were, albeit rebuilt with new animations in the higher Fidelity art.

  • The question is, in the long run, will this statement and the subsequent refunds be enough to assuage the anger and the fears of their player base?

  • Well, that remains to be seen, but we have our fingers crossed for the future releases of both Diablo for Overwatch too.

  • And hey, Warcraft four, it could happen.

  • But what do you folks think does Warcraft Very fortunate Mul Look, Are you upset with blizzard or you a rider die fan?
