  • Good morning.

  • I appreciate that very much.

  • And I appreciate the honor you might think.

  • Well, why is the governor here doing this?

  • You don't necessarily do it in every county, and I don't, But it actually goes back to 10 years ago when I wasn't even yet a wannabe governor.

  • I was thinking about being a governor, and I came down here and somebody gave me a few names of folks I should talk to around the state in two of those were Mayor Anderson and Sheriff Long, and I don't know if you'll remember.

  • It was a wet December rainy day and came down here, met with each of them individually and was just taken by both of them by their their commitment to do the right thing.

  • And since that time, I've had the chance to watch not just the two of them, but really, the way government has happened here, and it it happens and what I think is the right way, with a minimum of drama and focus on actually solving problems.

  • And my hat is off to all of you have done that.

  • People think that this might look easy because of the way that it's happened.

  • But it's remarkable.

  • Progress here is really because of a lot of people working hard to make the right decisions now in.

  • In Roger's case, I happen to think that maybe it's because he was born in the right place.

  • He's another natural guy, but I think it probably has more to do with the wisdom of the people that you have elected overtime in the fact that they keep being reelected, I think speaks volumes in a community like this where everyone knows each other, you can't hide who you are.

  • People figure out what they are, who they say they are.

  • They're not on.

  • I think the continued reelection speaks volumes about that.

  • Also, I appreciate you inviting me.

  • It's inching to be at the very end of your term.

  • You know, I was a bike rider.

  • Come out here.

  • Mayor paid my road a couple of years ago, and I appreciate that.

  • Not mine, but they're gonna ride my bike on.

  • But I was riding in Nashville of one Sunday morning about two weeks ago, coming down a hill kind of passed another rider and get to stop light.

  • And he goes, Hey said, Hey, I'm Sean.

  • It's a handbill and he goes out right.

  • When the light turns, it goes, Hey, waiter, you has limb on.

  • And I said, Yeah, and he goes, Okay, can I ride with his secure?

  • We ride a little while I was getting ready.

  • We're coming down 12 right about where Lipscomb is, and he said, I said, Turn left here And he said, Okay, Do you mind getting off, taking a selfie.

  • My friends won't believe I was riding with Bill has a woman.

  • So we do get back on my bike, put my helmet on and he goes up.

  • So tell me, man, like, What are you doing now?
