  • All right, guys, Once again, this is rumor control.

  • Here are the fax, as some of you may have seen online recently, we announced that myself, Tim as in Child of Mecca and Joel True Gumpawa.

  • All three of us were scheduled to be guests at new types.

  • Build conned.

  • This November, all three of us canceled.

  • But our first thing I'm not going to get into the exact details of why we ended up canceling or, you know, sharing anything that's of a private matter, because it is a private matter.

  • And hopefully you guys will respect that and our reasoning, or just understand that we have good reasoning for not getting into the details publicly as to why we not canceling.

  • But it's important for you guys not to make assumptions because I assume most all of you watching out there do not know all the details.

  • And so if you don't, you know, just I just I don't know.

  • I can't keep your assumptions to yourself.

  • But based on what I can tell you what I will tell you in this video, I don't know you.

  • You can you can make your own judgments, but but basically There's two important things that need till you guys know about why we cancel in.

  • The first thing is that it is not at the fault of us.

  • A Gundam stores.

  • So of course, some of you guys did deduce that Tim and Joel and I all either work for or often work with us again in the store.

  • That is not the fault.

  • The fault is not on Adam.

  • The owner of us are gonna store.

  • So I just want to make that very clear to you guys.

  • When we originally agreed to go to the con, we all sought Adams Adams blessing because we all either work for him or work with him.

  • They're at us again in store, and he was totally fine with us going to the Khan at first.

  • So that was not the reason why.

  • I mean, it's not because of him, so I don't want you guys like blaming us a goddamn store.

  • It's not their fault.

  • It's not Adam's fault as the owner, but there was an issue that we were attempting to solve.

  • And new type, unfortunately, just didn't seem very interested in working with us to try to come to a solution.

  • Thio solved that problem, and in their statement that they send out in an email updating guests about the Conde mentioned how they urge just to stay.

  • Honestly, I never felt like they were urging me to stay, and over time they just seemed to be kind of completely apathetic to the whole situation.

  • And that's why I eventually just kind of to give up on any negotiations.

  • And we all decided to, um, doing we all pull out of the consul.

  • Now, that's just the first part of this video, which I'm sorry, I can't give you guys the full details and I know it's it must be kind of annoying.

  • You must be thinking like, uh Well, come on, you're telling us there's a reason why you're not gonna tell us the reason.

  • So of course, we're gonna make assumptions.

  • That's that's fine.

  • But I'm sorry, guys.

  • That's all that I that I want to tell you right now and so it's just gonna have to leave it at that.

  • But the second thing that I want to talk to you about, I can tell you, and I feel very excited to tell you about in much more detail because it has to do with what happened after we let them know that we're canceling.

  • And this is kind of, I think, pretty damaging as well, Unfortunately.

  • So here's what happened with the hotel.

  • So when we let them know that we were going to be canceling the event, we had to refund them the money for the flight or for the cancellation fees for the flight.

  • Of course, another thing that they requested from us was that we repay back for the hotel reservations as well.

  • And now here is where it got kind of strange because first of all, my hotel was originally reserved back in the end of June when I was first in talks with the person.

  • They're at new type.

  • I don't want to say their name.

  • I'll just say Spider Man there and s.

  • I was in talks with Spider Man, making plans about um joining the con and everything and getting the flight and hotel reservation everything.

  • And at that time, I got a hotel booking reservation email sent to me, which strangely, I can't find.

  • I don't know.

  • I must have accidentally deleted it.

  • It's not this kind of thing that I would really I would have obviously kept something like that.

  • But for some reason, I can't find it.

  • So that original booking email, confirmation, confirmation, email that I got back at the end of June is magically gone.

  • I don't know, but pretty sure, I would have noticed if it was for three nights instead of two.

  • Because I'm only gonna be at the con for two nights.

  • I'm flying in on Saturday morning and then sting Saturday night, Sunday night, and then I'm flying out on Monday.

  • So in my conversation, you know, planning that, um, I let them know that even though I was arriving Saturday morning, I was fine to go straight to the Khan as long as there was someplace at the convention to just leave my bag, Then I'll be fine.

  • I didn't need to, like, go to the hotel to take a shower or arrest or whatever it was gonna be arriving at, like flight landed 9 30 in the morning.

  • So, you know, by the time I get to the Khan, it's kind of like time to get things going anyway.

  • So I was I was fine with going straight to the come.

  • But for some reason, they made my hotel resident reservation for Friday night as well.

  • Ah, and it seems just kind of strange to me why they would reserve the hotel for Friday night when I wouldn't be even be arriving until Saturday morning.

  • But apparently they said they did this out of convenience for me so that I would have a place to, you know, go in No wash up or whatever.

  • I guess before the Khan, even though I said I didn't need Thio.

  • But so that was, you know, uh, still, like, we had a contract, silly.

  • I still did have a sort of obligation to pay them back for the hotel.

  • So, like we didn't agree in stone, that was gonna only be for two nights, uh, at at any point in the email.

  • So kind of they had a little bit of a loophole to get through for that one.

  • So, unfortunately, I was just kind of, like, screwed at that point, like, um, they made it for three nights, even though it's a little bit ridiculous.

  • Obviously needed for two nights, but okay, whatever.

  • But the other thing was that this hotel costs.

  • Ah, in total cost is $962.

  • So, you know, that's including taxes and everything.

  • But so over $300 per night, $300 for a nights when I'm not even gonna be in the room.

  • Seems a little bit ridiculous.

  • So Ah, I asked them then at this point, the you know, before I pay back the money for the hotel.

  • You know, I'm sure you're probably looking for someone else to replace me at the Conso.

  • Is it possible you just keep the room and just change the name and just use it for whoever you get to replace me?

  • They said no, they're not.

  • Well, at first they said maybe if they, you know, end up do getting someone to replace me.

  • But then they said no.

  • And they're going to look for someone local so that I'm not gonna need the room.

  • Okay, that's fine.

  • So I assume that at that time, the room, you know, they canceled the room and I owe them money for the room, as they said, because it was non refundable on DSO canceling means they had to pay back the full amounts $962.

  • Uh, so I was curious.

  • And so in the confirmation email that they sent me later, once we canceled, I I asked for, you know, a receipt.

  • So from the booking.

  • So they forwarded me the booking reservation, which was surely a different reservation from the one that I got back at the end of June that I mentioned because that was just for me.

  • This one was a reservation for two rooms.

  • Mine and also Tim's Room were both made in the same reservation, and Tim didn't agree to go until later on after me.

  • So that means at some point, my original reservation that was made was either canceled or something altered in some way somewhere along the line.

  • I have no idea when.

  • Also, when I checked the booking online, the booking was originally not made in my name or it was originally made in my name and then change someone else's name.

  • But anyway, in the email and then on the website, the name for my room was different, which is also kind of strange, and especially if the room was supposedly cancelled then on the website, it should have shown that the room was canceled.

  • That reservation was canceled.

  • Ah, but it wasn't.

  • It was still there.

  • And if it was not yet canceled yet, I was just wondering why I need to pay back the money.

  • That is still four room that at this point was still being in use.

  • It still hasn't been canceled yet.

  • So ah, ice noticed on the website.

  • There was an option that says if your room is nonrefundable, you can request to the hotel directly to see if they'll give you, Ah, kind of if they'll change their policy or whatever.

  • If if they'll give you the room, if they'll give you the cancellation, you know, without having to pay the fee.

  • And so whatever.

  • So, uh, rather than just doing the online, I just rang up the hotel in California there in San Francisco.

  • So I called the hotel and I talked to the guy and give him my name and he said, Oh, yeah, your reservation is is, is here is still there.

  • So that means the reservation was not yet canceled.

  • Um, so I said, Oh, are you able to cancel that?

  • And you said, Yeah, we can cancel it if you like.

  • I said then if you're able to cancel that, will, you know, will there still be any fees for that?

  • Well, there's still some cancellation fee, because on the website, it's is not refundable.

  • So he checked and he said, Oh, it is through booking dot com.

  • So he had to go into there and check it.

  • And he said, Well, yeah, with the website with the booking website, you actually don't pay anything?

  • Yes, actually, nothing's yet been paid You actually pay later at the hotel.

  • So that means, uh, the room could be canceled and nothing had actually even been paid it for the room yet.

  • So ah, me having to pay back the $960 was for nothing.

  • So that was, uh, that was a little bit, you know, ah, little bit of a rush of emotions because I felt good that I'd solved the problem, But I wasn't really too happy about that, as you might understand.

  • So So I let the guy know the hotel.

  • Yeah.

  • Please cancel that.

  • And so when I then mentioned that then to new type that I talked to the hotel and they said that nothing had been paid yet and the rooms could be canceled.

  • They said Oh, we have to.

  • We have to check with the booking website because according to the booking website, it can't be canceled, so we'll have to call them or something like that.

  • And then later on, they're like, Oh, yeah.

  • Okay, you're right.

  • Basically.

  • So that's the end of that story.

  • Uh, luckily, say the money didn't have to pay that, but that's the situation at the moment.

  • So we're not going and basically feel like they tried scamming me out of almost $1000 essentially on Dhe.

  • So, uh, pretty unfortunate situation, because here's the thing I really wanted to go to the con on, and I was really hoping for the con to be a lot of fun, and I was gonna be able to meet up with the guys true gunplay and tame and then other people as well is looking forward to meeting up with the text was originally supposed to go and Dennis Crow sama, other people there, too, as well.

  • I was looking forward to meeting up with them and just of course, all the all the fans, everyone else going as well in attendance and doing everything there.

  • Um, I was looking forward to it, and it's just a really It's a shame what happened cause the issue, I think could have been solved so easily, and it's just a shame that it just ah, new type, wasn't it, wasn't willing to try to fix the situation which caused us to have to cancel anyway.

  • And then on top of that, to try to scam us out of money for the hotel room as well.

  • So it's really ah, shame.

  • But I want you guys all in the United States, especially those of you who were planning on going to the contest con especially to see me.

  • Now I'm not gonna tell you guys don't go to the canyon.

  • If you if you still want to go to the combine, all means go and have fun.

  • I think the reason why I wanted to go is for the community.

  • Uh, the reason why Adam at US economist or was willing to let his employees go there to a quote unquote rival, or at least that competitors show, was because Adam also believes it's good for the community.

  • So he was fine with letting us go there.

  • We all just wanted to go have a good community event and and Yeah, I just want to let you guys know that it's just a shame and really sorry that I can't go to the event and hang out there with you guys.

  • But in the future, there'll be plenty of opportunities to visit other cons and things and other events there.

  • So, you know, if you're in this United States and one toe Aah ing out at a con at some point in the future, I'm sure there'll be plenty of chances.

  • So looking forward to that later on.

  • But for the time being, that's the state of this situation.

  • What has happened thus far?

  • I don't really expect anything too much else to happen on that thing.

  • It's kind of done as faras for us.

  • My involvement with that, But everyone else was going, I wish you guys have a good time to other guests who are going, you know, go and you're gonna make the most of it.
