- Are there some days where you feel
like you just can't come up with ideas for videos?
On a channel like Sifu Dan's that can be a problem,
considering we upload every single day.
So, today I'm gonna offer five tips
that can help you generate new ideas.
Tip number one, and that is plan it out in advance.
Now, with this channel we actually have
what we all a content calendar that says
what type of video we're gonna release each day.
For example, on Monday we'll release a copywriting video.
And on Tuesday there'll be a sales video.
This helps so that when we go
to our shoot days we know what type
of content we need to create, and we stay on track.
Number two is research other popular ideas and innovate.
Not all of the best ideas are original.
For example, take Apple, they did not invent the cellphone.
It was already an existing idea.
They took that, and then made the iPhone,
which was their own product.
You can do that with your own needs.
Say you can't come up with a video idea, look on YouTube.
What's popular, and what's trending?
Type in that idea, and come up with your own ideas
from what's already out there.
Tip number three is to just completely
take your mind off of coming up with an idea.
And go for a walk, go play a sport, go to the gym.
Do something physical that doesn't
require so much mental bandwidth.
You can really burn yourself out by trying to come up
with ideas over, and over, and over again.
You can set a certain time limit
for you to take that mental time,
but be sure to give yourself physical breaks.
Before you know it the creative
juices will be flowing naturally.
Number four is ask your audience.
A lot of the times you'll see Sifu will say
leave a comment below if you enjoyed this video.
We started doing more copywriting videos
because people started saying they really
enjoyed learning about copywriting.
If you want to know what your audience
wants don't be afraid to ask them.
Say give us a thumbs up if you enjoyed this.
Any kind of feedback is feedback that you can take
to consider videos that you want to make in the future.
Number five is to remake one of your own videos.
Now, I don't mean doing a video on the same topic
you did last week just because it didn't get as many views.
I mean taking a topic that you did a while ago
and reflecting upon it with your new experience,
and considering how your perspective has changed
since you first uploaded that video.
This is a good tip to do, especially if that video did well.
Consider the title, consider what people
are saying in the comments.
Come up with new content that came from that old video.
And number six as a bonus tip would be just to upload
something that you absolutely love to talk about.
For example, on this channel lots
of people advised Sifu Dan not to upload videos
on Wing Chun because they weren't in the business world.
If you actually take a look those videos
are some of our most viewed content on this channel.
You can tell just from the passion in Dan's voice
that he loves making these videos.
And they have gotten an incredible
response from our audience, even if it
isn't involved in the business world.
People love hearing other people
talk when they are enthused.
And that's something that you shouldn't shy away from.
So those are a few tips that we use here
at Dan Lok Productions every single day.
