- I want to talk about the captains this season.
For the first two road games
we're going to go with four assistants.
All right, with Bo, Tanny, Eddie and Suts.
We've put a lot of thought into this
and it's a huge honour.
Thought it was fitting
that we didn't have a captain last year.
And I think it's fitting that we have one this year.
I think he's ready for it
and I think our teams' ready for it.
And I've got a couple guys here that came in today
that I think should actually do the pass off
from the old captaincy to the new.
Come on in guys.
(team applauds)
- It's a great honor to be here today
to announce the new captain of the Vancouver Canucks.
A guy that we have seen grow as a person
from day one he came in.
- Two things that we enjoy the most about presenting
this guy as the captain is that we know that he is not
going to change just because he is the captain.
And number two, that we are going to here
for his first speech as the captain, Bo.
(team applauds)
- Put it on.
(team laughs)
- Nice.
Thanks guys for obviously being here.
And thanks for everybody I guess.
It was pretty humbling.
It's pretty amazing, I can't wait for this year.
I think we have a heck of a squad
and I'm really looking forward to get things going.
And I really think we have a good team here
to do something special this year
and I want to get back to the playoffs.
Best time of year and the best hockey.
So I think we have the team in here to do it.
If I can represent the Canucks
like Hank and Danny have over the years.
Wear the jersey and wear it the way they left it.
It would be an honor.
So thanks guys.
(team applauds)
- Here we go.
- Let's go.
- Congrats Bo.
- Congrats.
- Aw, thanks.
