And many more will be joining that community over the course of the next 24 to 48 hours. Let's get directed. Camera Cloud, who is live now outside of the Mima Bunker, there, on how officials are working to try to keep us safe through the storm. Here can well, David, of course. This is the governor's first storm response that he's quarterback. He seems pretty confident that all the good prep work has been done, and that state is ready for the storm out here. We're right on top of the meaning bunker, and you can look back here onto Route nine and you can see that the snow has really picked up here. And that's really an advent of this last hour or so in the winds is the major thing. I mean, it's really starting to whip now. The governor said that at least 20 cities around the state have already opened up their shelters, but only a handful of residents are taking advantage of that. Even as the blizzard really knocks at the door along Route nine through Metro West, we found most folks in retreat just gonna stay at home and that's it. We're from Hope, but not far away in the Mima Bunker, it was all hands on deck as officials counted down to the midnight travel ban. You don't have a really good reason to be out. You probably shouldn't be. Indeed, as 2 to 3 feet of snow pile up over the next 24 hours, officials want only essential traffic out there. Even is the state police warn drivers who encounter trouble. If you find yourself out there breaking down in your car, the best place for you to stay is in that vehicle. For those filling up last minute gas cans for possible use in generators, should the power get knocked out? The state fire marshal urged caution. Never bring a generator in the home. Never bring a generator into a garage. Keep it where it has fresh air. The governor suspects most of the 500 National Guard troops he's called up for storm duty will wind up on the South Shore and cape. But I fully expect that a big part of the activity we're gonna be involved in tonight and tomorrow is going to involve the coastal flooding. Meantime, this fella doubts he'll sleep for the next 36 hours with 40 customers to dig out. But when I sent out the bills and the checks come in, I feel pretty good. The governor still seems to think that coastal flooding is the biggest enemy here. He thinks power outages will run a close second. But he warned all Massachusetts residents that when you wake up tomorrow, it's gonna look like a blizzard out there. And certainly we believe him on that account. He is not staying here at the bunker to 90 stay with a friend nearby. But he didn't go all the way home because he has to be back here for a 7 a.m. briefing live in Framingham tonight. Ken McCloud, W B c news. Lisa. Back to you, Ken. Thank you.
