  • That will give you the confidence to move forward for the rest of the interview.

  • Okay, next question.

  • Tell me what you know about the role of a nursing assistant.

  • Okay, now a couple of tips.

  • Make sure you read the job advert on the key elements of the nursing assistant role, which will form part of the job description.

  • So if you can recite the key areas of the job description on, explain how they are a good fit for your skills and expertise, all the more better.

  • So here's my sample response for you.

  • Tell me what you know about the role of a nursing assistant.

  • The role of a nursing assistant is extremely diverse and varied on requires an ability to follow procedures, safety guidelines and strict protocol.

  • As a nursing assistant, I would need to follow instruction and training provided by the practice Nurse on general Practitioners would be required to conduct testing and recording of the results of a clinical specimens and also provide assistance in minor operations to ensure Thora and appropriate patient care.

  • Would also need to assist to have patient health checks, conduct routine patient dressings in accordance with my training and guidelines, and ensure adequate clinical stock levels and medical stationery are maintained for effective functioning off the department and also input the necessary information onto the practice clinical system.

  • Now, whilst these are just a few aspects of the role, I understand the position is extremely challenging and will require professionalism and ability to conduct myself competently on operate under strict guidelines and procedures at all times.

  • That's another really, really strong response to that question.

  • Let's move on to the next one for your nursing assistant interview.

  • What is your understanding of confidentiality in the workplace Now?

  • You and I know that confidentiality is absolutely vital in these kind of healthcare rolls and in particular the nursing assistant role.

  • So two tips.

  • Make sure you know what confidentiality is within the role you are being interviewed for.

  • And also there is a code of practice generally, which all staff must follow in a deer, too.

  • Now, whilst it will be covered during your training, make sure you are aware of its existence.

  • So when you're responding to this question, what is your understanding of confidentiality in the workplace as a nursing assistant?

  • If you talk about the code of practice providing you know about it, of course, then that is an extremely positive thing.

  • So here's my sample response to this interview question.

  • I understand there is a strict code of practice that all staff within the organization must follow on a deer to now the code of practice determines what health care organizations must do in order to meet their responsibilities based on confident confidentiality on in particular patient's consent.

  • Toe how their health records are utilizing, shared among staff on external stakeholders.

  • Now the code of practice is a legal requirement, and it is also based on organizational best practice.

  • So that shows that you are aware of the code of practice on how it impacts on your role in your responsibilities.

  • Great response.

  • Let's move on to the next question of your nursing assistant into now you're trying to help a patient who is upset and confused.

  • They refuse help.

  • What would you do?

  • A couple of tips here now read and understand the organization's guidelines, which are based on capacity.

  • What I mean by that is a capacity to make a decision.

  • Now, in most cases, a patient has the right to refuse treatment.

  • And was I so you need to check this with the organization that you're applying for or whether it's the N hs, but make sure you check it.

  • However, there are exceptions when a patient does not have the capacity to make the right decision and therefore the health care profession professionals will conduct an assessment and decide where the treatment and care should go ahead.

  • Okay, here's my sample response to the nursing assistant interview question.

  • You're trying to help a patient who is upset and confused.

  • They refuse help.

  • What would you do?

  • Here we go.

  • As I understand, all adults are presumed to have the capacity to decide on their own medical treatment so they can refuse treatment or care.

  • However, if there is evidence to suggest that they do not have the capacity to decide, a competent and suitable healthcare professional will conduct an assessment in order to make a decision.

  • In this situation, it may be the patient is suffering from dementia or under the influence of alcohol or drugs, In which case I would seek guidance from a senior member of the nursing staff team to assist in the decision making progress.

  • Sorry process.

  • At all times, I would follow standard operating procedures.

  • My training and I would never put a patient at risk or in danger.

  • So that's a solid response to that question and shows that you are aware of the code off practice.

  • Very important.

  • OK, next question.

  • How would you deal with a difficult or aggressive patient.

  • Okay, probably pretty much guarantee that you will get past this kind of question.

  • Join your nursing assistant.

  • Interview two important tips before we move on to the answer.

  • Now the main thing to say is that you will follow your training at all times.

  • I also recommend you mentioned words risk assessment in your answer.

  • On that, you would use firm but nonconfrontational communication skills to defuse the situation if it was safe to do so.

  • So here's my suggested answer to that question.

  • First and foremost, I would follow my training and operational procedures at all times.

  • I would conduct an initial risk assessment.

  • Is the safety of myself of a staff?

  • The patient and other patients would be paramount.

  • If I believed that following the risk assessment the risk of danger was low, I would utilize effective, open communication techniques to resolve the situation.

  • I would remain calm.

  • I would listen to what they were saying and asked them open ended questions.

  • I would reassure them and acknowledge their grievance.

  • If they had one, I would then ask them to explain what was angered them whilst maintaining soft eye contact now, if at any time I felt was a danger, I would call for assistance, I would never put myself or anyone else in danger.

  • So the important thing is that you follow training and procedures on standard operational procedures for the organization you're being interviewed for.
