I guess when you come from, you know, so over humble background way you couldn't always have in.

Now, you know, when you're in a blessed enough position to be able to make a way to get yourself, you're gonna go hard, is normal.

So you you grew up in salt.

I grew up in Tottenham till I was about 11.

Oh, yeah, my parents just moved on.

Hill was a bit of a culture.

Shock is a culture shock, you know, because you go from so of a community where you know, all the kids also grew up with.

In primary school, we had similar sort of financial situation.

You know, there was a lot off one parent, so the house was a lot of my friends, you know, they only had one parent in the house, You know, you're usedto so go in home by yourself after school from primary school years let you walk home, and it's nothing, you know?

I mean, that was definitely It's normal, like, you know?

I mean, you get home, you make your own food like you sort yourself out until Mom and Dad gets back from work or whatever.

And then, you know, sort of I moved to Mill Hill, and then all of a sudden, you see, in order parents, they're picking the kids up from school every day.

Um, you know, I mean, like you just the little things like that, Like, kind of weird, you know?

What do you mean?

You're not working on yourself?

Your mom's dropping.

Things don't make sense.

Surely that's not normal, but, you know, like so it's available concert.

It was a bit weird.

You know, I caught in a little bit of trouble sometimes the school from time to time, Like on I think part out was just I was a bit a bit of me felt out of place.

Yeah, somewhat.

But, you know, like I learned a lot of, you know, a different group of friends.

It was cool.

Mom used it.

I think that it's so almost the same similar situation with me, actually, was that like I was going to school on my own a lot of time on, like coming back and stuff.

And it was the same of a lot of people in my in my school as well.

The difference was is that, like, where I felt a bit out of place at times was that I was like, the minority in terms off my butt where I was from was dominant, be white.

But it felt so I felt and be our place at times.

But I got used to that.

I mean, I know the fact that when I got to second you school, there was a large Asian community in my school and, you know, a lot of white people in my school.

Yeah, you know, it was so over.

Ah, a small number of black kids at Mill Hill.

So that was another thing.

You know, that you got that.

I sort of got used to worry.

You know, when I was in talking to me, you got kids from sort of everywhere a Lee backgrounds.

Yeah, we're going to school together, you know, because around there, a lot of time, it was sort of, you know, parents and moved from their home country, you know, to sort of try and make make a new way over here in the UK Your parents are Nigerians.

Did you ever go back when I went back?

And I haven't been back since I was five.

Okay, now that that's that's the only time I've been all for real.

So even now, you haven't been back since you might be planning.

I always feel that, like when you go back later in life, it's different energies that you kind of almost embrace and get because you can go when you're young and it's just kind of a thing that you just do You think your parents would take a But the thing is like, especially from those of us who are parents, you know?

So we're first generation in the UK type of thing.

What we know of our background is what we're taught for our parents on what would talk for art.

Uncles are over here to type of thing, but then to go back and to experience it for yourself.

I think that's a totally different.

It's a hole in a random woman, and it's a lot deeper because now you've ableto make your own opinions and form your own viewpoint of your you know, sort of your roots in your background, and you have a certain understanding, like a better understanding of certain things.

Ugo, I'm saying my dad, for example, telling me rock when he was in Jamaica, Jamaica, is that a lot?

When I was young, I stood right donkey and stuff like that.

If you're telling me that when I'm young, I'm not cool when I go back and I'm like seeing it and you'll see if you can imagine that's what I call a car Weightman.

I can't wait, really, because it is long over demon.

But, you know, I just haven't We haven't had the time.

Yeah, might as it sounds.

But with basketball and stuff, I just, you know, sort of been the key aspect of my life.

Like, you know, my life is so revolved around basketball for a little while now.

So how, when you say little while, like when did that start becoming a thing in your life?

Like when you was before 11.

After never.

When I was about around 12 ball park, I just started getting into it, you know, because my brother, it was him who originally so picked up basketball, and, you know, he will go over his friends.

And I just wanted to sort a road.

You feel me S o you know, I started to take interest in it.

You know, it would start off playing in the parts, watching like the street basketball videos on one mix, tapes and stuff.

Um, and then, ah, you know, just a passion for him.

And I loved it.

It was something, you know, it came easy for me.

Like I didn't feel like I was, uh, so I salute when I was playing basketball or anything like that.

At that point, I just knew that this was music Black playing a big part in your life as well, in terms of inspiring you tow, tow, Toby, a basket with music lovers huge my hip popper, mask your body, go hand in hand.

You know?

So you know the music culture.

And musically, I've always loved me.

I played Trump's full operated basketball, you know?

I mean, when I was young, you know, played jumps up to three years.

You know, my dad's always been big on music.

Listen, I remember growing up, and he was sort of in a studio, and I remember him.

Listeninto felon on Bob Marley and a lot of jazz and saxophone and instrumentals like I just remember one of those memories.

So music's always been like love music.

Yeah.

How old was you when you went to America?

And you ain't college day now.

First, I went thio on high school for two years of high school for two.

So which is the equivalent of a levels?

Yeah.

And did you leave?

So, did you go on your own?

Yeah, I went on my own.

Um, I would say with the whole family.

How was it?

Like, you know, believe in the family first and go in and doing and just being in a whole different country in a wild way?

Um, it was pretty easy One.

Yeah, I just knew I wanted to do.

And this was the show I wanted.

I wanted to go out there, and I wanted to, you know I'm not.

I knew Sof, you know, my parents and my brother got my back, and they know I'm doing it for a good reason.

But I didn't Look back.

Um, you know, I think, um, I'm blessed to see things that way.

Ah, because sometimes, you know, some people can maybe get caught between okay?

I don't want to leave my family.

I don't leave my loved ones on.

You know, But, um something things you dream about those are places you've never been before.

So you're gonna have to go out off the known.

So of sacrificing it.

Like where you feel like there's a There's a dream there that you're pursuing a career.

Ultimately obviously you love your family and your friends and stuff like that.

But there's, like, a little sacrifice that my name will be made and used.

It seems that you kind of like identified that that's identified that sacrifice kind of early.

Still, I'm and you know what I mean.

I was wondering, like my mom and dad, They always you did Used to sort of told me growing up, like, you know, if you want good things, you have to make sacrifices, you know?

I mean, you're gonna have to sacrifice your time.

You're gonna have to sacrifice, uh, you know, going out your mates and little things by that that, you know, we're just normal around that you're gonna have to make sacrifices.

But the more you love something, you don't see it as a sacrifice right now.

How different was it like was naturally, you know, you being he was in high school in England and that in London.

And then you're gone like that kind of finish high school tour and going to college like, how was that?

Was every other cultures Up to a degree, I know that, like, musically, you feel kind of connected a bit because you're listening to the wrappers.

One not so.

Like, you know, when I was going up.

Listen, I remember like, que no p's and Q's.

I remember watching all of the, like, the risky Rose video, you know, I'm saying I remember Crazy Titch and all of that, like I remember Gary JJ.

Yeah, you know.

I mean, like, crime and all of that.

I mean, all of them.

Um, so it was different going out to the States.

You know?

Obviously you knew the music.

I was popping in the states, but it was like it was still different.

Um, what do you like?

It was my because I went over there on the first.

I went to two different high schools in the two years and the first high school went to was a private school.

Oh, for real.

So you went from light literally public school in England in that London.

I went from Tottenham Tottenham toe.

Really good good school.

He's going Mill Hill and then rifled up to a private school in the States like mine.

It was insane.
